http://toucharcade.com/2012/06/06/loststar-tactics-review/I'm really enjoying it. Ever since Hero Academy came out I've been clamoring for a simple tactics game that I could play against AI at a moment's notice (as opposed to multiplayer). LostStar fits the bill, and adds to it some RPG-lite customization elements as well as a minor "deck building" element. You can hire more people to join your team, but each mission selected can only accommodate a certain number of combatants, and only these will receive XP. If they all die, it's game over. If you survive and win, they all get XP depending on how well they did. It's a nice system reminiscent of a number of other tactics games. You can redo missions to level up your favorites, as well as receive rewards such as items (each member can use 2) or cards. Cards are your main character's abilities. You form a deck and at any given time have access to 4 of them at random. Each turn you have to either use one or discard.
I'm still getting the hang of it, but it's pretty fun thus far. Certainly worth the 0.99 I paid for it (I think the price went up to $2.) Seriously I think back at the pre-iOS days and I'm sure I would have paid $30 at least for a portable game like this (if it were for DS or whatever).
