While the DQ series has never been a favorite of mine, I love the fact that they're all getting ported over.

I will buy DQ8 the minute it comes out but I couldn't care less about the older ones.  I appreciate nostalgia but those games were long, hard, and actually pretty boring by today's standards.  I am not sure it is really worth the money to port them over.

Ditto on DQ8 that was a great RPG which should still hold up by today's standards. Lets face it the JRPG hasn't really improved at all since the PS2 days.

If the Dragon Quest VII 3DS remake isn't getting localized, then I hope the mobile version will be based on that.  It would also be nice to get the SNES remakes of the early games.

Probably true, but I LOVED the original NES Dragon's Quest.

Here is some game play of 8 on the iPhone.  I have to say on one hand it looks great, on the other I will play it on the iPad so I am not sure I like the vertical orientation.
