Capcom has announced that Ace Attorney 5 will be coming to the 3DS with Phoenix Wright back in the starring role.  Capcom has already announced that it will be released in the US and Europe smile

I loved the first 3 games, but never tried out Apollo Justice, maybe just because it wasn't Phoenix Wright in the lead.  I'll be back in for this one, though.

The game is coming to the US this fall under the title Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Dual Destinies as a download-only game.  On the plus side, it sounds like it will be cheaper than a physical release would have been -

We will be confirming details on the price point in the not-so-distant future which I hope will also shed more light on the strategy at play here.

So, I finally got around to finishing this game yesterday, and holy shit was it excellent! The final plot twist was absolute genius and took me by complete surprise. From what I'm reading, most people consider this to be the second best Phoenix Wright game, with only Trials & Tribulations considered better. The typical ranking of the five games seems to be 3 > 5 > 1 > 2 > 4.

If you're a fan of the first trilogy of Phoenix Wright games, this is one you can't miss. While the 4th game, focusing on Apollo Justice, wasn't all that good and didn't feel essential, this fifth game feels like it truly belongs with the old greats. Which is ironic, considering that this is the first game in the series not written by the original creator. It's impossible to tell though. The characters feel just right and the writing is incredible as always.
