It's out tomorrow and the full game is totally free for the Vita! No other purchase required.

Eh, every Vita PSN purchase seems to be nearly half price here in Norway anyway. Everyone I've heard from is very pleasantly surprised, and the retail chains simply can't compete. To translate roughly to US terms, the most expensive games on PSN for the Vita right now are at about $35. Most are at $25 or less. Motorstorm was at roughly $5.

Do you need to own a Vita before you can "purchase" this deal?  I will get one eventually I suppose but I don't have a Vita now.  Could I go through the Vita store on my PS3 and download the game for when I eventually own a Vita?

I would think you'd need to buy it with the Vita. Otherwise it would essentially be free for everyone.

I don't see why not and it doesn't seem like it would hurt to try. You wouldn't even need to download it, would you? Just 'purchase' it and then download it when you get your Vita.

I imagine part of the plan for this is as an incentive to get you to buy a Vita.

However, with free Plus games, when your subscription runs out, the game is no longer free.  If they have a way to do that, they probably have a way of limiting the time between when you buy this and when it has to be "activated" on your Vita or whatever.

It might not be an issue, I guess.  We'll see.

Same here.  I got in, but it's sloooooooooooow...took over 3 minutes just to load up the initial PSN store screen.  Wonder if they're getting hammered with people trying to DL.

I'm grabbing it onto my PS3 no problem.  Hopefully I'll be able to play it once I enventually get a Vita.

Got it for Vita.

Kinda tough to get used to the controls. I switched the gas and brakes to the shoulders but even the steering is different.

Only played a few races and it does seem fun.

No, the free version isn't gimped at all. It's the full game. Also, no it does not let you play it on your PS3. There is a seperate version for the PS3 and that costs $$$.

Originally it was going to be if you bought one version (PS3 or Vita) then you got the other one for free, but they changed that to just offering the Vita version for free with no other purchase required,

From what I understand, your progress is sync'd between the two versions. Not sure if there's more to it than that.

Yeah, just that and the fact that you can compete with your friends' times on either system, so they can play the PS3 version and you the Vita and you see each other's best lap times and such.

Yep, once I got used to the controls it was a ton of fun. It took me awhile though to figure it out and get comfortable with it.

I'm not usually into leader boards , but wow the ghost/ lead board system is just plain fun at use here!
