In addition to the 3DS XL news at Nintendo Direct, they also announced US release windows for Professor Layton & The Miracle Mask (November) and Fire Emblem : Awakening (2013).  Also, although not confirmed for US release yet, they announced Art Academy for 3DS and showed a new trailer for Bravely Default, the semi-sequel to Final Fantasy : The 4 Heroes of Light.

When I read Nintendo direct i always think of tiger direct and their bad late night tv spots...
