This one is getting trashed everywhere as being nothing more than a lame cash-in.  I'm as big of a FF as you'll find, and even I wouldn't touch this with a 10-foot pole.

Disappointed that Squeenix would release something like this, but not terribly surprised.  Their app store strategy is baffling.

Sad thing is, the core concept of the game actually has some potential.  Unfortunately, it was implemented in the absolute laziest and greediest way possible.

Isn't the core concept of the game to swish your finger around without any regard for strategy or timing?  The Penny Arcade and Game Informer articles make it sound less interactive than a Three Card Monte table.  At least there you have the challenge of trying to figure out how the scam works.

Yeah, paying $20 for the iPad version of TWEWY was a bitter pill to swallow, but at least it's the same price as the DS version of the game (unlike paying $10 more for FFTactics on iPad compared to the PSN version). This is just nonsense. Square Enix need to pull their collective heads out of their asses, or they're going to tank, hard.

Which is sad, because their western division is pretty awesome. Shame they had to buy Eidos.

Maybe someday when they've finally burnt through all their brand equity, but it won't be any time soon.  Squeenix games are consistently at the top of the charts in terms of revenue generation in the app store.
