trailermain siteit's a sci-fi RPG due out hopefully this year. they're describing it as 'Sci Fi meets Game Dev Story'. Build your ship, manage your crew, explore the universe. Star Command takes you across the galaxy to discover alien life, engage in epic battles and discover the mysteries of deep space. Our team here at Warballoon is working hard on the alpha for Star Command, coming (fingers crossed) this year to iOS and Android. Taking influences from X-Com, Game Dev Story and The Sims, Star Command is a game where you are the creator, captain and crew. the combat portion is supposed to be playable at PAX East, plus it has 'Angry Birds'

Everything I've heard said it's mostly like Game Dev Story (though they also have mentioned X-Com and The Sims as influences). I think the trailer was more for flavor than gameplay. |

ok, so is Game Dev Story real time or turn based. Not sure if you were joking or not, but in case not, Game Dev moves in real time but you can pause and issue commands. Essentially every instruction you give pauses the real time action, and then it restarts as soon as you have issued it. |

how the Kickstarter money was spent. Star Command developer Warballoon, which funded its Kickstarter project in the BDF (before Double Fine) era, decided to share details on where its cash went. The company stressed this isn't it saying "oooops," but simply helping out future kickstarters to think more about their prizes and where their money will go.

I think that's neat that they shared that information. Hopefully something that will help out future teams. I hope they do well with their game. |
