Apparently, I can't. Rebates would go to people earning below a certain income cap, likely individuals earning $75,000 or less and couples with incomes of $150,000 or less. gellar

I still think excluding people is the wrong direction. If the money is moving, it's doing what it is supposed to be doing. One would think the more money in the hands of more people, the more movement one would observe.
But hey, what the hell do I know?

CNN is reporting $600 for individuals less than $75K and couples less than $150K. Do we think this would be based on last year's tax returns or this years (since they are saying checks would come in June - isn't that a little far off to help?)? And would it likely be gross income or adjusted gross or what?

Adjusted gross would probably be most fair, but I guess we'll have to see since none of this is law yet. It's still all talk.
Although to be honest, rather borrowing more money which will need to be payed off in the future, I'd rather the government stop squandering money and pay down their debt. Cutting me a slice of their loose fiscal policy isn't going to do me any long term good. All it's going to do is continue balooning the amount of money they'll eventually need to collect from my paycheck.
Hope all the fiscal conservatives are happy with the $30,000 (+$600?) which Staying the Course is going to cost each of them. And each of their kids. And grandkids.

I'm married, but my wife doesn't work. Do we count as a couple or as a single person?
We file jointly but her income is 0.
And yeah, June seems like a long way away to help.
In fact, it kinda sounds like they're draining the treasury to set up the impending democratic white house for failure....

It will likely be judged by your tax return - married filed jointly has the $150,000 cap.
