My first thought when I started watching the video was, "Well, if you point a camera towards a group of 9/11 Truthers, you'd get a lot of batty ranting from them, too."  Then the line kept coming.  And coming.

It looks like these people aren't much calmer once they get inside the event, either.  Here's a video of John McCain getting booed by a crowd of his own supporters when he tries to talk down their fear and mistrust of Barack Obama.

Doesn't surprise me. I've been listening to McCain/Palin supporters for a while. They've certainly captured the redneck and Militants for Jesus crowd.

I am starting to become embarrassed to be an American anymore, though. Sad indeed.

They better triple Obama's Secret Service detail once he becomes President.

I was thinking about McCain and Palin's latest line of BS attack.  Even if these attacks fail to move the polls, they might prove useful in inoculating the Republican base so that no matter what Obama does, he can't ever win them over.  By turning him into the Boogeyman, all they need to do on January 20 is send out donation requests with the picture of the Terrorist President (and he's black!) and the money will roll in.

Maybe I'm too jaded.  The fact that McCain stepped back from the brink today might disprove my theory.  I'll see how he plays it in the weeks ahead.

edit: nevermind. not worth it. You win cheeba, you're a moderate. I'm an extremist, Bush is doing a swell job, Palin was right about Obama (hell, he probably planned 9/11), you're an ardent Obama supporter, and the average member of this forum is a radical Marxist leftist.

You know what the say about arguing on the internet.

Soooo, find one and link to it here.  It has to be a video of an Obama crowd talkin smack and not one lunatic's ravings on youtube.  Having actually been to an Obama event with 20,000+ people, I can tell you it is quite the opposite of the angry mob mentality displayed in the OP.

I confess that at the Obama rally, there was one fellow who had worked himself into a froth with a long string of random cursing directed towards Bush.  The people in line around him cornered some of the Obama volunteers and asked that the fellow be flagged by security.  He seemed like he was off his meds.  At the McCain rally, it seems a good part of the crowd is off their meds.  How does one live with so much anger inside?

If this is all true, then my apologies. You & I certainly have some common ground in your list there. You don't come across moderate, and you seem to be an avid defender of McCain & Palin, but that could be faulty perception I guess.

As an aside, I personally, I don't see how anyone could defend Sarah Palin as a legitimate potential leader of the U.S., nor defend McCain's grossly negligent decision to pick her.

One possibility is that he is someone that can't stand the idea of Obama become the president. You know that there are people including democrats that won't vote for someone like Obama. From what Cheeba posted so far seem like he doesn't like Obama and people who support Obama. I am not sure I believe that he'll vote for Obama.

Just look at Cheeba's posting history and try to find how many of his post defending Obama and how many of his post defending McCain/Palin. Then look how many of his post critizing McCain/Palin and how many critizing Obama. The evidence there show that he is pro McCain/Palin and anti-Obama. He is as fair and balance as FoxNews.

Another possibility is that he is just trolling and messing with us.

And one possibility is that arguing against the left wing does not make me ultra-conservative or anti-Obama.

Now I'm really not liking the implication here. Are you calling me racist?
Quote

I like Obama. I like McCain. I like both men in this election, though sometimes both piss me off. They are politicians, after all. But you are obviously misreading my posts. I don't like extremists. I don't like the idiot extremists shown in this video and I don't like many of the extreme partisan arguments here. There is so much partisanship here, so many people who think this is some contest of good vs. evil... it's just not that easy, and I think people need to understand that. Just because I don't like something Obama has done does not mean I am for McCain.
Quote

Sure, but you have to take into account that even the most partisan (well ok maybe not some of these people) of forum posters has to agree that this board has a strong lean to the left.

And yet you've not considered the most reasonable possibility: that you have no clue wtf you're talking about.

While I don't approve of people behaving like that in that instance, there are some important differences there in terms of the content of what people are saying in each video.

There is a big difference between giving someone shit for what they do and in giving someone shit for who they are...
