Looks like its time to give Mormonism a try. They seem to know how to run an economy.

So you're.....14?

It hit 7.8% in the early 90s and was above 10 percent in the early 80s.

Little surprised to see Utah's numbers so low.  Seems like half the people I know are out of a job lately.  frown

The article I read this morning stated that November posted the worst unemployment numbers since 1974.

Worst monthly drop. Overall unemployment rates are nowhere near as bad as they have been (will be?!).

Well that's a bit of good news at least. I'm glad I misunderstood the article; or rather, I'm glad that the truth was not as bad as what I thought it was. nod

I would really like to see an overlay on that map that showed state tax rates.  From the bit of research I have done, the states with the highest unemployment rate seem to also have some of the highest tax rates.

Illustration and Animation.  Working on being a concept designer.

A lot of tax rates are also by county.  But, unemployment also being higher where tax rates are high doesn't seem like a stretch of a correlation.  It may be that areas of higher tax rates have middle-class income people, and job loss may be higher in that area than with low end jobs.

Unfortunately, your degrees aren't what we're looking for.

Heheh, if you work for the type of place I think you work for, this is funny because the CIA has been recruiting graphic designers and other skilled artists here on my campus, and other places.  Tongue

It reminds me of a tatical map showing the spread of zombies or something.  Perhaps I've watched too many movies.  I think they should change it so that whenever a city's unemployment jumps by 3 or 4 points a little nuclear explosion goes off.  Something like the map in....whatever the game was.  Not Darwinia-the other one.
