hilarious...and frighteningly true.  i find it amazing that folks are willing to follow this man while citing fiscal matters as a primary reason...but they still don't know exactly what the man's plans are.

Obama in 2006. Prior to the whole economic collapse thing. You know, the thing that practically collapsed the entire financial sector globally? In a more prosperous time, I would hope they would say something like that because taxes should have been raised instead of running a huge deficit AT THAT TIME. The economic situation has been drastically different since which involves a different focus. But, hey, when you're looking for confirmation of your beliefs...

BTW, you should read Obama's acknowledgement and comment on that quote.

I find it amusing that the conservative religious right is forced to support a candidate that is...not of their ilk.  The Tea Party anarchists can't be too wild about having to throw their support towards a candidate that historically has been moderate, with some liberal ideas.     

They undoubtedly believe that they can just steamroll him while he's in office, and with some reason. Romney has zero interest in social issues and not much more in international issues, except as those affect the economy. His entire schtick is the economy, and he is utterly convinced that he's the right man to turn it around.

(There is virtually no evidence for that outside of his own mind, but his opponent's lackluster record makes a lot of voters willing to take a chance that he really is the wunderkind that he says he is.)

I think Romney would be an extremely weak executive, and Congress would be calling most of the shots. Pray that the R's don't capture the Senate.

Well, on second thought Romney's cabinet would more likely set the agenda than would Congress. Congress is too fractious to set anything. In other words, a bunch of appointees that we haven't met yet would vie to be the power behind the throne.  But hey, at least that's Reaganesque!

I've seen Eco's link plastered all over my conservative friend's Facebook posts today, accompanied by them all but declaring victory for Romney.

I find it amusing how this poll is entirely, 100% accurate, but every other poll that shows Obama ahead is a product of biased "liberal media".

Truth be know I am worried because I truly believe whether you all agree or not that If Obama wins we are all screwed.   The only thing that changed my outlook on things is having an amazing 5 and 2 year old kid, not saying you all don't have children...

I mean nothing personal, and honestly don't take any of this personal either.  I'm happy to agree to disagree.  I work for a bank and have a healthy wager with one of the branch managers that if Obama wins I'm taking him to dinner wherever he likes, and if/when Romney  wins he is taking me, all in good fun.  But you all don't live close enough to make a wager.

I've been here since GG days and have no aim to burn bridges with any of you, and I mean that.

I've made a drinking game out of watching Romney talk.   Every time he tells us "I can do this or that, I can fix this or that" but fails to actually tell me how, or even give any idea of how he might begin to approach it, I yell "HOW?!" at the screen drink until we are past November.   I think the most entertaining thing is that only the most extreme Republican sites all say that there is no chance Romney is going to win, but damned if he isn't convinced he already has.  The Schadenfreude enjoyment process is a wonderful one and I will enjoy watching him lose.

All of that out of the way, let me ask how anyone supports a candidate that:

1.) Thinks getting married stops gun violence.  He should talk to his kid about wanting to "take a swing at Obama" though - maybe his kid needs to be married?
2.) Doesn't believe in energy that doesn't come from dead dinosaurs
3.) Doesn't understand that cutting PBS will gain us literally nothing and lose us quite a bit.
4.) Has a budget based on "I'll pick a number" and "Trust me" instead of any actual facts.
5.) Outsources jobs to China while saying he'll crack down on China.
6.) Has supported/not supported the fair pay for women act.  The Binders of Women thing is just funny/creepy, but not all that relevant. 
7.) "As President I will create 12 million new jobs" and then in the same speech says "The government doesn't create jobs".  Flip flop in the same speech!

I could spend all day at this and all I did was just look at the first result that came up on the Internet as sources.  I didn't seek out special sources or anything like that.   The man can't pick which side he'd like to be on for anything, and he expects us to just 'trust him' at his word that he'll make everything alright.   Sorry - no.
