Gee, you mean my vote might matter for a change? The primaries are usually over by the time they reach MA. Will I go with the mildly evil guy who might win, or the purely evil guy who can't? I swore I would never vote for Romney again after his term as governor...but really, Newt fucking Gingrich???? Maybe the crazy guy will still be in it. He'd be a good none-of-the-above cop-out.
I suppose I could always take a Dem ballot instead....
Nah, my vote won't matter. Romney will sweep the Massachusetts Moderate vote here.

Really, I don't know. Is it?

All these negative attacks on eachother, especially if Newt is going all the way to the convention as he says, is giving the dems a lot of ammunition for whoever goes against Obama.
Unless Paul wins the nomination (which is very unlikely - he's probably with the wrong party anyway) I will reluctantly vote for Obama again. Newt or Mitt will likely cause WWIII with their war mongering talk at all the debates.

No. From Gallup, taken from Obama net positive approval numbers since 2011:

I interpreted Purge's question to be, "Isn't the Republican primary process an exercise in determining second place to Mitt Romney?" The answer to that is, "Sort of." No one is voting for Mitt Romney because they like his record or believe anything he has to say -- he simply seems like the least objectionable candidate they have to run against Barack Obama. Even that perception is something he's had to buy, saturating every primary contest with incessant attack ads against his Republican colleagues. The Conservative movement dislikes him intensely but there don't seem to be any credible alternatives. Rick Santorum is clearly running for vice-president at this point. Ron Paul is running a 2016 or 2020 presidential bid on behalf of his son. Newt Gingrich only ever got in the race because he knows that running for president is a great way to drive up speaking fees and book sales, but has more recently decided that he really fucking hates Mitt Romney. That leaves...well, the prayers that some big upset will occur and change the political landscape between now and the convention. It's also important to note that, due to arcane nomination shenanigans, the 2012 primaries in New Hampshire, South Carolina, Florida, Arizona, and Michigan are only awarding half the normal number of delegates. This naturally puts a greater emphasis on later contests to lock down the nomination. -Autistic Angel

Why do PR and the other territories have primaries when they can't vote in the general? Why do they get to influence the nomination? (And: Do they have Dem primaries as well?) Enlighten me, PR_GMR.
I would guess that the party is trying to build its brand there against the day that they eventually do get statehood.

Puerto Rico isn't a state, so yes, it technically makes no sense for us to vote on primaries. We are, though, a US territory (Puertoricans can come freely in and out of the US without a passport). It's a weird grey area. The fight to become a US state has been raging in PR for ages, and I for one wish they would just shit and get off the pot and become the 51st state.

not that it really matters, but he's won Connecticut and Rhode Island. http://nbcpolitics.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/04/24/11373452-romney-wins-in-rhode-island-and-connecticut-primaries?lite/[edit] and it's a sweep with Delaware, New York and Pennsylvania.

His alphabet is still missing a few letters: He has: ACDEFHILMNPRTVWYZ (and a few duplicates) He's missing: BGJKOQSUX
That's how this works, right?
