Isn't that first picture of Alex's dad from Half-Life?

Those are from a series of candids on DigitalJournalist.org.  The whole set is really interesting to see, for both candidates.

Obama series
McCain series

Be sure to keep hitting the "show more images" button at the bottom over and over again at to see the whole series.

Some presidents just look really good on camera, can say Kennedy was also a really photogenic president. Just something about them.

Yeah, because he was never a younger man. Tongue ... that staircase looks like it's straight outta black mesa and you know it.

RE: Alyx - she doesn't care if I put an e instead of a y... she loves me anyways.

"Socialist? Yeah, it's that guy over there."

This is just a cool picture for politicians and the political season in general, regardless of year.

I thought about it some and I'm now reminded of this pic.

I like that pic of the two young kids looking up at Obama. I think that really sums up, on the non-political side, what this election could mean.

I liked the picture of Obama cleaning up after himself at the diner.  Very classy for him to be doing that.

Hey, look, teleprompters!

That picture would be far, far better without them.

Yeah, without those teleprompters there's no way Obama would have been able to beat McCain in all three debates. The man is just incapable of forming a complete sentence without his precious teleprompters!

I was only commenting on the picture.  I feel the presence of the teleprompers subracts style points.

And even if your reply is sarcastic, where do you get the idea that I'm talking about debates, or anything political, with my comment?

Yeah, I was being snarky. Perhaps I'm mistaken (and I'm too lazy to check), but I thought you had in the past been dismissive of Obama as simply "good with a teleprompter".

Your "Hey, look, teleprompters!" definitely made it seem like this was your angle. I apologize if you didn't mean it that way.

Considering it was probably a professional photojournalist who took the picture they probably felt it was better to leave them in than to have to explain why they altered a picture they took.

For me it helps explain the setting and provides leading lines to the center.

Not there, though!  I genuinely think that would have been a more powerful image if they weren't there.

Unfortunately his oratory skills do seem to mostly rely on teleprompters, as is the case with most, if not all people in public positions nowadays. The days where we get a true speech where the candidate talks to us rather than reads to us are gone.
