President Obama has consistently held double digits leads over his Republican opponent and it will be difficult for Romney to win the election without the female vote. Whether it's economic or social policies, Republicans often dig their own grave on issues that are important to women.
One of the leading voices in the conservative media is talk show host, Rush Limbaugh. Limbaugh found his way on the front page of many news outlets earlier this year when he went on a rant against Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke. Responding to Fluke's statement on female contraception access, Limbaugh railed against the Georgetown Law student, calling her a "slut" and a "prostitute." Following an outcry from protesters, many of Limbaugh's sponsors went on to drop his show. This past week, Limbaugh continued his disrespect of women in the United States.
the exact quote:
"When women got the right to vote is when it all went downhill. Because that's when votes started being cast with emotion and maternal instinct that government ought to reflect"
he caught himself though:
Moments after he realized what he said, Limbaugh interrupted the caller to claim he was "just joking" and was "frustrated."
sure Rush, sure you were.
