According to her, yes. If you count Fla and Michigan. http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/04/24/campaign.wrap/index.html?iref=mpstoryviewIt looks like this is going to be the position of the Clinton campaign going into Denver. I guess they will not mention the fact that Obama's name wasn't even on the ballot in Michigan. I wish the good people of PA could have put an end to this mess. It does not look at all like Hillary and he campaign are going to go away quietly. Last week I would have said there was a 90% chance that Obama would get the nomination. Now I would say it's about 75% certain. I think the Clinton campaign is going to try every angle.

none of it matters, neither democrat will win. they double screwed themselves by putting two minorities against each other.
just my 2 cents.

Oh I see what you're saying. Only men ages 18-25 are not minorities, since they register for the draft. Everyone else is a minority, including Obama, both Clintons, G-Dub, and myself. Makes total sense now. Gotcha. gellar

gellar, now your just being silly. i'm white, and i was a minority when i went to high school. then i graduated and stopped being a minority and registered for the draft. i just turned 26 last week, so now i'm a minority again.
i'm just stating that in "FUMBLE's world", the president is picked for us before we have a chance. if you are curious to where that is, its in the North American Union.

Getting back onto topic... Yeah, it's absurd for Clinton to refer to the results of Florida and, in particular, Michigan, but she's a politician, so that's not that suprising. While I think it shows poor sportsmanship to have continued past March (when it was fairly clear that she had very little chance of being able to win the majority of the pledged delegates) I don't have issue with her continuing - there are still primaries, after all. Whats the point of having them this late if you're going to frown on still having a race by that point?
I do have issue with some of the attacks she's used (eg, Bill's racial attacks, Hillary's "as far as I know he isn't a muslim" bit, etc).

It seems a dangerous claim for Clinton to tout. If she puts too much emphasis on being ahead in the popular vote, what will she say after NC and Indiana's primaries when Obama "retakes" the lead (retakes is in quotes because it's a ridiculous argument for her to make in the first place). The only reason I can see for her to make this claim is if she thinks it will swing some superdelegates her way (or at least prevent them from declaring for Obama).

this isnt complicated... to me, women will always be minorities because of the way they use their boobs/vergina to get what they want. and they fact that the average male makes more than the average female. and because they still want us to hold the door open for them. that kind of stuff. racial minorities will never have a fair chance. we still have a state that flies the nazi flag of the south in their state capital. come on.

Yeah, it's absurd for Clinton to refer to the results of Florida and, in particular, Michigan, but she's a politician, so that's not that suprising. If I was part of Obama's campaign, I'd announce that "including the US and Canada, Obama has 50% more votes than Hillary." When the reporter looks at me quizzically and informs me that Canada's vote don't count, I'd say "Exactly. And neither do the votes in Michigan and Florida." Seriously. I wish the world outside of my head was as logical as the one inside it.

I doubt it would be a good strategy for Obama to tell voters in MI and FL that their votes do not matter. They do need to get control of the campaign narrative back, however. If Hillary is the best candidate, how is it that she went from the heavy favorite last year to the desperate situation she is in now? That should be the story, not "Obama cannot close the deal."
