Glenn Beck Fans Send Death Threats to 78 Year Old Professor

Stay classy, conservatives.

The upshot: Glenn Beck digs up a paper a professor wrote in the 1960s about ways to force necessary social change, declares her one of the 10 most dangerous people in the world, says the Obama Administration is using her ideas in its plot to destroy America, and now members of his audience have been sending her death threats.

This man in singlehandedly doing more to poison American political discourse than anyone outside of the Palin family.

I am pretty convinced that Beck has some kind of mental defect. His paranoia level is absolutely off the charts. For goodness sakes, he spent 3 full shows on how George Soros was going to overthrow the government. It's really quite scary that people are watching him and taking what he is saying as fact.

It's possible there are no good guys in this scenario.

Beck is a freak.  I don't know whether he's one by design or by birth, but he is one.  I suspect he either intends to encourage violence, or doesn't care whether he does or not.  (That's not to say that his rhetoric comes close to what can be prohibited under the First Amendment, by the way).

But Piven is no credible foe of political violence.  She wants to see more "unruly mobs" and wants to see more protests like the ones recently seen in Greece and England -- which appears to be a reference to violence.

Her supporters will no doubt respond to that pushback from the Right by saying she didn't mean to be encouraging the sort of protests where bank employees are burned to death by firebombs thrown by people who feel entitled to the government dole.  That's about as credible as Beck's protestations that he never means to suggest violence.

1. He comes off like a televangelist. Scary as fuck.
2. He is guilty of the very thing he is speaking out against
