Christie: 'I'll Be Much More Ready' To Run For President In 2016

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) says he's not sure if he'll run for president in 2016, but he'll be more prepared for the job.

“In terms of me, I’ll be much more ready four years from now,” he said in an interview with Oprah Winfrey airing Thursday night.

“There’s nothing more unattractive than getting there and feeling like you’re not ready,” he said.

Christie -- who endorsed GOP hopeful Mitt Romney in October 2011 -- praised Obama's skills as a campaigner during the interview. He also paid Romney a back-handed compliment, calling him the best-qualified candidate, but saying “he doesn’t really communicate it all that well.”

Many Republicans pushed for Christie to run in 2012. He has attracted speculation as a possible pick for vice president by Mitt Romney, who called Christie "one of the leading figures in the Republican party."

wouldn't it suck for him if Romney won this year and his plans got pushed back at least 8 years, if not more?

Because by then gas will be $7.00 a gallon and the GOP candidate will be promising to bring gas prices back down to a "reasonable" $5.00.

I don't see one on the Democratic side coming up in 2016. I could be wrong. Hillary Clinton could potentially prove me wrong. But as of now, I expect Obama to be re-elected in 2012 and a Republican to win in 2016.

There's a Republican A list?

I've seen some names that Republicans would prefer to this year's three stooges. Chris Christie is one, Bobby Jindal is another. Maybe Jeb Bush, I don't know if W ruined that dynasty for all time or not. I don't follow Republican politics but I'm sure there must be at least a few who would get an enthusiastic welcome.

Looking ahead to 2016, I can't name any Democrats who are rising stars. I suppose they can only start to position themselves after Obama's reelection.
