Yeah, it's sad.

There's also a thread about this in Off-Topic.

Only 58. Yeah, this really makes me sick. He was one of my favorite TV news personalities. Simultaneously a gentleman and a raging attack dog.  icon_cry

Whoops, didn't see this in off-topic. My apologies.

Shocking and depressing news. I'd become quite the Meet the Press junkie over the past few months, and though I sometimes abhorred his "gotcha" journalism, his enthusiasm for politics was obvious and contagious.

Wow. That is terrible. I haven't missed a Meet The Press program in years.  It feels like I've lost an old friend.  crybaby

Gone to that great big white board in the sky.  RIP.

His new show, Meet The Gods, will have them squirming about all the inconsistencies in their books.

He really did have a unique way of bringing politics to the average American. Its a loss to the entire Country.

I drove by the NBC offices on Nebraska Ave. on Sunday and there were lots of people out there near the pile of flowers (and probably a handful of whiteboards).  Lots of younger folks -- probably American University students I'd guess.

I made the mistake of going to www.hillaryis44.com yesterday (I like to get my daily dose of craziness).

Apparently they have a beef with Russert - so they posted links to their past articles condemning him.

Also, the Westboro Baptist Church is picketing his funeral because he "failed to speak out against homosexuals."

Some days, I hate people.

Yeah - Fox News was all over him yesterday. Give the guy some respect, gee whiz. He's not even buried yet.
