 Wait about 20 minutes and go for your first cup of coffee and realize that you didn't turn the machine on?
Doh! It's gonna be one of those days.

I would think that's the point where you need to skip the coffee and go straight to the espresso.

Yep. My coffeemaker sits next to my toaster, and I keep them both unplugged when not in use. Sometimes I go to make coffee but plug in the toaster instead, which is not very effective.

I brought my car in for service this morning and had my wife drive me from the dealer to my work. I left my computer in the backseat. (I borrowed a car and went to pick it up... pretty great start though )

I made coffee this morning at work and went to pour sugar into it. the sugar came out quicker than usual so I had a half a cup of sugar. I figured what the hell and just added a half a cup of coffee. I'm gonna go bounce off some walls now.

Ha. I've made a pot of coffee before ... without the coffee pot :\
It's fun when you realize it's brewing all over your kitchen counter.

You should really have a cup before you make a pot. That should be a warning on the label. Starbucks or something for the primer, and then "OK, now I'm fit to operate the percolating machinery."

I am lucky enough to have one of these at work. Although you still have to remember to put the pod in, and a cup below. So I typically will bring coffee from home so I am awake enough to manage that.

I've forgotten to turn a lot of other appliances on, usually the clothes dryer, but never the coffee pot yet. Yesterday however I did forget to put in the water when I turned it on.

I get up an hour before my classes and make the stuff - needless to say, that sort of thing happens to me about once a month.
The last thing to happen to me was I ground the coffee beans, but didn't put them in the machine. So basically, I just had hot water pour through it. Idiot!

I have one of those espresso kettle thingies. Once I put it on the stove, coffee and maximum heat, but without water... Twenty minutes later, surfing GG, I heard a "clonk" from the melted-off handle. <- looked about like this on the side.
