Annndddd... I quit again.  confused

I thought I had found a dream job--a film/video job after years of education, training and searching. Instead, I had inadvertly signed up to do the work of at least two people, and apparently, I needed to be some sort of film/video bunny-hopper multitasker. After working at this outfit called Mr. Video for a week, it became evident it was a small business and very poor run. The place was majorly disorganized; invoices strewn everywhere, equipment not labeled, old electronic equipment that needed to be handled in a very special way. Combine that with a boss that could barely train (he just didn't feel like it and expected me to figure everything out for myself).. a business operation very prone to errors (paperwork errors, equipment broken by clients that my boss wanted to blame on me, clients that would regularly come in outside business hours and they needed to be attended to).. and very low pay (12 bucks an hour plus a pittance for miles traveled on the job).. and I could see the job wasn't going to add up. I bailed out before things got worse. My boss basically wanted me to completely run his store with little to no training. It was like a ten ton weight of responsibility was thrown around my neck. I just had to bail out.  icon_mad

I'm back to where I started. Time for plan E. I will survive somehow.

Ouch.  Well you picked up a job last time pretty quickly, so hopefully this means there are more jobs in your field out there.

Good luck PR_GMR, we're all rooting for you.

And the plot twists in my crazy summer of '12: I'll be moving to NYC in the next couple of weeks (Yes, hepcat, *now* I will actually live there, as you had assumed). A good, crazy friend has offered me his couch for a few months while I go after the film/video jobs that are sorely lacking in the Baltimore/DC area. I've decided to take the leap. I'll be putting my shit in storage, packing a bare minimum, and off to the Big Apple I go. I've actually been contemplating this move for many years, but was too afraid to make it. I've nothing to lose now.. so here I go.

Will you two be willing to work under the stage names Dick Steel and Roger Meroundly?

Well, my idea was, y'know, I want a name, I want it so it can cut glass, y'know, razor sharp.

When I close my eyes, I see this thing, a sign, I see this name in bright blue neon lights with a purple outline. And this name is so bright and so sharp that the sign - it just blows up because the name is so powerful... It says, "Dirk Diggler."
