So I haven't seen a thread yet about the baseball world series.  I personally am an STL Cards fan so I have been watching every game in the post season.  What are your thoughts on the series?

That was definitely pine tar on Rodger's hand.... icon_evil

I'm mostly a Red Sox fan, but I've rooted for the Tigers second since 1984 when I needed another team to root for and they won the series.  I've no real vested interest though and have not done much beyond hearing the scores the next morning...

But yea; that was pine tar or else he did not wash after going to the restroom...

I'd like to see the Tigers win.  They played so well for almost the entire season, I think they deserve it and the Cardinals aren't that great of a team other than Pujols and Carpenter.  That said, the Tigers better step up their game because it seems like the Cards aren't going easy.  It'll be interesting to see how these rain delays affect both teams. Yesterday's delay coupled with the Tigers weeklong layoff could really hurt them, especially if this most recent delay is longer than one day.

Not to offend, but good lord is this world series the worst I've seen.  Both Colin Cowherd and Jim Rome agree.

Well there is your problem right there.....Jim Rome....... icon_biggrin

Anyway you look at it, these are the two teams that have played the best in the post season.  That is all that matters.  Granted the Cards regular season sucked, they still won their division and beat the other teams to make it to the series.  Seems like the best way to do it to me....  I think that commentators don't like it cause they would have never expected to see it be the Cards V. Tigers.

Damn, beat me to it.  How Rome keeps a radio gig is beyond me.  I haven't listened to him in years, but let me see if I can guess his "take" on the series:

Listen up clones,

(ridiculously long pause)

You heard it here first

(longer pause, rustle papers)

the World Series

(pause, pause, rustle, rustle)

is gonna be wack.  I'm out!

I'm just glad it's not the 'we don't give a damn about baseball and we just wanna win so the hell with the fines and whatever we just want to spend millions upon millions in an attempt to buy out the sport New York Yankees' playing against somebody else.

Beyond that, Baseball is boring as all heck.
