I don't follow footie (am I saying that right?), but the reaction seems to be that it is a murderous draw for the US.

I know that Germany is always good...don't know anything about Ghana or Portugal.

Ger is number 1 in the world for a very good reason, Portugal has Ronaldo and neutralizing him will be the issue and the US has never fared well against Ghana..  Think they've lost every match against Ghana

So yeah... not a very good draw at all

Following the English sports press, here we go again. Their team isn't as good as they like to think they are, granted they are better than average not the powerhouse that they imagine (remember their reaction to the US 4 years ago? That the US would be an easy win). Suarez is going to be very motivated to score against England for Uruguay, and of course Italy won't be easy. Hoping they go out in the group stage. I almost want that more than a US success. Germany has always been my team of choice for the favorites, so want to see them get through and play Spain as well.

The US likely won't get even a point with that draw. Maybe 1. MAYBE. They also have to travel about 9000 miles in the group stage. There is no group this difficult. The US won CONCACAF and is the 'tomato can' of the group. Needless to say, I'm not happy, but I'm eager to see how our boys do. I'd like some revenge vs Ghana.

The US won CONCACAF without the real offensive starting lineup playing together. Donovan, Altadore, Dempsey, and Bradley have yet to all play in the same game, once they are together and gelled they should be able to score against Ghana and Portugal. The real key will be beating Ghana 1-0 and then hopefully shutting Ronaldo down and winning that one 1-0 or maybe even 2-1. But yeah it's a long shot.

Portugal aren't that good, Ronaldo has a bad game and we can win.  Ghana is also a beatable side, just have to get past our own ghosts/weaknesses. Really think the group is being over stated, it's the World Cup, there isn't many easy groups for a team of our skills.
