Does a shirt really make the man?

Quote
A 33-year-old Michigan man is accused of wearing a "World's Greatest Dad" shirt to a meeting for sex with what he thought was a 14-year-old girl.

Mmm.  New avatar?

i had the same thought, but then i don't really want to be associated with an asshole pedophile.

i have to say that the addition of the wwe logo to the saying really makes this an epic fail.

So if he would have gone to the meeting wearing a plain t-shirt all would have been okay?  Michigan has some very particular laws on it's books:  "Sex with teenagers is just fine... UNLESS you wear a 'World's Greatest Dad' shirt!!  Oh, you're in trouble now, mister!"

The author needs to go back to school and study up on that writing thing again.

Irony makes this story interesting. I don't see anywhere that a different t-shirt makes the crime ok.

A jail official says it isn't known whether Everett actually is the "World's Greatest Dad."

I dunno.  It is a funny picture.  If I didn't already have a monkey in a hat, I'd use it as my avatar for a few days just to offend ATB.

The point was the perp wasn't accused of wearing the shirt, as was written in the story.

Well, I don't think it condones pedophilia to point out that the t-shirt is in questionable taste.

Agreed, but the line should have read "A man wearing a 'World's greatest dad' shirt is accused. . ."  Biyobi was pointing that out, not that the shirt wasn't funny considering the circumstances.

Yeah, but they don't sell "World's Greatest Child Molester" t-shirts.

Probably.

He lost the title dad right around the time he killed his offspring, so I think the irony went out with that.

Yeah, I'm starting to think that maybe this "World's Greatest Dad" award isn't actually that prestigious.

I would consider this person as one of the greatest Dads

Quote
A photo of Team Hoyt, a father-and-son athletic duo. The father, Dick Hoyt, started pushing his son, Rick, in his wheelchair in running events in order to benefit the physically disabled. They finished practically last in their first race in 1977, but kept at it. Dick runs marathons and does iron man trials with his son. He pulls him on a raft through the water, puts him in a seat on his bike for the cycling portion, and pushes the wheelchair for the running leg. It makes me well up with tears to see the love this man has for his son.

I was trying to find the quote but it was something along the lines of a reporter asked Dick Hoyt why he doesn't do a marathon solo to see how good he is and Dick replied along the lines "I'll never know, because I will never do one by myself."
