Ok, if you don't follow comics or don't follow DCs Infinite Crisis, this is a non issue. However all my geek friends who are DC fan boys are just going nuts. Boarderline of fan boy anger.

Oh spoiler boy:

Spoiler for Hiden:
Basically, Max Powers gains mind control of Superman and Sups nearly beats Wonder Woman to death. However she figures it out and goes to  Max and orders him to stop. Max says she would have to kill him. At which point Wonder Woman kills Max Powers in cold blood.

Myself, I'm not a big follower of the DC universe. In fact, I've only started reading DC books heavely about 2 years ago. So to me, it isn't a big deal. Anyone else wish to comment?

I commented on it in our ongoing Infinite Crisis thread that seems to drop to the 2nd page a lot after I update info...heh.

I was not shocked by it since it was the only way it could be done really.

Great issue, though I'm with Loren- it wasn't a surprise at all.  And I've always gotten the sense that WW was much more ruthless than most give her credit for.

Great fight between Supes and Diana.  I was glad to see WW cross the line that Superman and Batman probably wouldn't have crossed.  It's good to see her stay in character, especially the way Rucka's been writing her on his run (good job!).  She is an Amazon, after all.

Having not picked up a book in over 10 years, that makes no sense to me.

Maxwell Lord -- the guy who started the '90s Justice League?  Mind powers?  Evil?  Huh?

Time to go read up at the official DC website again I guess!

Mind powers is nothing new to Max...he had them in the 90s.  And yes, everyone was shocked that Max Lord was behind Checkmate in the $1 Countdown to Infinite Crisis comic.

Not a comic book reader, nor am I familiar with any of the characters, but I have a question about Rob's Spoiler:

Spoiler for Hiden:
How does superman ALMOST beat anyone to death? Wouldn't it basically be one punch and that's it?

ok, so its Maxwell Lord and not Powers. Like I said, I'm not a big follower of DC.

Now: ATB

Spoiler for Hiden:
Wonder Woman has grown to be close in power to Superman. I know she isn't invulnerable but she is pretty close.

Howzzat?

Spoiler for Hiden:
She is human right? Equal in power to Superman? Jerry Seinfeld would not be pleased. How is this anything but unpossible?

Wonder Woman isn't really human.  Humanoid I suppose but she is a clay statue brought to life by the Gods which doesn't really qualify for the human tag in my book.

EDIT- Also, from the DC Encyclopedia:  "while not invulnerable, she is highly resistant to bodily harm."

GAH!

Time for me to break into the CC business and right the wrongs.

I have a feeling Hampster Vice is gonna stage a comeback!

LOL! Nerfed!

I've noticed an increase in WW's powers, which IMO is for the better.  In the past few years (and especially in the JLA cartoons) she is about equal to Superman in terms of strength and endurance; Superman has more abilities, however.

Superman and WW could make some pretty powerful babies, that's for sure.  I could imagine it  being difficult to find a babysitter.

They have made a baby in Elseworlds stories.
