Last night my fiancee had some piano lessons at our place.  A couple of KIDDOS came on over for them.  I came home from work and they were watching the Disney channel.  Well, one of the commercial breaks for The Suite Life of Zack and Cody (don't get me started on THAT garbage... except for their Mom, she is MILF material!) had a music video for this High School Musical 2 crap with some dude named Zac Afron.  Unfortunately, I can't find the Disney version (it was ridiculously funny and terrible and had like, spacecrafts and such...) but here's his "music video" for the song, Bet On It:

WARNING:  this song is dumb

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omCFKGhe5j8

What the hell is this shite?  High School Musical?  People actually LIKE THIS?!

Are you a HSM fan?  If so, why?  Or are you like me where you haven't heard of this stuff.

I'm in the same boat. My daughter is 9 1/2 and is the middle of their target audience for this crap. It's Grease for Kids... and it's terrible.

Um, you might want to check out a board largely comprised of 9-13 year olds if you want to see a big group of HSM fans.

That said, a Google Images search for HSM star Vanessa Hudgens (with Search Filter Off) might prove fruitful.

I dont find tisdale anything special..shrug.

As for music its the same all around...the generation before you and after you will find your music to be lame. Its just how it is. Then again looking back to the 80s I can say that I find my own taste in music back then to be lame too smile

Oh you closed-minded fools!  ninja

I watched both High School Musical and High School Musical 2 with my kids and the movies are actually fun to watch.  We've watched them several times now.  The music is key and most of the songs are pretty darn catchy and quite good.  The characters are over the top to some extent but that's what makes it fun.  There is not a single character in the cast that is annoying.  Like fyedaddy said Grease for this generation is exactly how I would classify it too.  The problem is that Radio Disney overplays the High School Musical songs way too much which is probably why you curmudgeons are disliking the movie.  icon_wink

Oh yeah, and Suite Life of Zack & Cody and Hannah Montana are fun to watch too!  Kim Rhodes is hot and delicious!

Yes, Starshifter, you have nailed it.  My apathy for HSM indeed comes from listening to the songs too much on Radio Disney.  I liked Radio Disney soooo much more before HSM came out.

Pacing back and forth at the local high school waiting for the girls to "become legal" is not a healthy, socially well adjusted activity. (ask Ike about his prison time). Apparently fantasizing about child stars somehow IS. Roll Eyes
