I got to meet Tom Chick at Quake Con...that was pretty cool.  I almost ran over Harrison Ford one day at Bell Helicopter.  He was cool about me bowling into him.   meh....can't think of any others.

I met U2K once.

We played chess for awhile then he got bored and wandered off into the sunset.

Engineer Bill. A local celebrity of a children's show of my youth,in the 1950's and early 60's.Little Oscar and the Wiener Mobile were there too.

I have seen a number of celebrities from a distance but we didn't start up a conversation or anything.

After I moved up here I used to go bicycle riding with Rob Walton(son of Sam).I was in my late 30's and he was in his 40's and was racing bicycle in the senior circuit and was quite good. We went on many a ride together.Haven't seen him since before his dad died. Have also seen his siblings and said hi,but that's about it. I think their net worth(of all of them together) is about the same as Bill Gates. His sister is an asshole.

Jerry Burns, an old head coach of the MN Vikings, at the Minneapolis airport.

Anthrax, at the venue they were playing that night. Had sandwiches with them smile That was very cool, as I was a huge fan back then.

John Randle, a now retired defensive tackle for the Vikes, at a sporting goods store.

Thats about it.

I got backstage passes for a show they played with Public Enemy and Primus.  They were great guys and passed the beer around very liberally to us then-16 year olds.  Scott Ian is a seriously funny guy.  They let us hang with them for almost an hour, and were telling some great groupie stories.  I also got to meet Chuck D & Flavor Flav at that show.  Chuck was an incredibly nice, well-spoken guy (as if anyone would be surprised by that), and Flav was completely batshit insane.  Seriously, that guy has more than a few screws loose.  Nice guy, but just bizzare.

A number of minor wrestlers, including the now-departed 'Gentleman' Chris Adams.

Richard Garriott (came to what was Southwest Texas State for our computer club, pre-release of Ultima VIII).

Walked about 30 feet from Howard Shore as Webzen was introducing him at E3 as the composer of SUN.

Both of the developers of Wizardry (at different points).  Met Robert Woodhead at an anime convention, as he's the head of Animego.  Met Andrew Greenberg as he and I worked for the same tiny company in Florida for about 2 weeks.

Various Babylon 5 actors (Marcus, Jason, Byron and Kosh) at different years of an anime convention.  Note:  Byron's actor does a LOT of video game voices, including Cyclops and Pyro in X-Men Legends, the Prince in Prince of Persia...

Any number of American anime voice actors.  Piro and his wife from Megatokyo.  Randy from Something Positive.

Missed out meeting a number of current WWE wrestlers by about 10 minutes, including Big Show.  My roommate at the time got that privledge.

Hugh Jackman.  Just recently too. They're Shooting Xmen 3 (or some of it) here on Vancouver Island.  Just walking down a path near the shoot.  He said "hey".  Took a second for me to realize who he was.  Didn't see any claws.

I also worked at a restaurant with the drummer from 3 Days Grace when they were still playing small clubs under the name Groundswell.

Larry Bird (at Teepee Restaurant in Phoenix), Gary Sinise (during his recent USO tour with the Lt Dan Band), George Takei (Lt Sulu from Star Trek [book signing]), and Tom Clancy (book signing in early 90's, right before CPD was published).

Those photos would fit on my PDA....I'm just sayin.

Uhm...recently?  I had dinner with Charles Barkley at Benihanna.  Nice guy - felt sorry for all the hassle he got with people bugging him and his wife (and his fake ass friends) as they tried to eat dinner.

Other than that, I've met Shigeru Miyamoto, Peter Molineux, Richard Garriott, Pamela Anderson, and more members of the gaming community than I can rightly recall.

Barkley's definitely an interesting figure.  Speaks what's on his mind, no matter what it may be.  Enjoyed when he played for Houston.  I also think he's a hell of a lot smarter than some people believe.

Let's see... Patrick Stewart, Nancy Kerrigan, Tom Hanks...they all come to my pharmacy.

Unfortunately they're just people who happen to have the exact same names as the stars. biggrin

On a more honest note though - Ice T (actor, former music star) has a summer home here in Tempe, AZ somewhere (for when he isn't taping whatever show he's currently working on). He shops at the grocery store where I work. Tends to draw a small crowd once people actually regonize who he is.

Tom Green, unfortunately.  I was working bouncer/door for some party, and a friend and himself wanted to go there to eat (it was closed for a private party).  So, in a way, I kicked out Tom Green!

But it was really more like telling him the place was closed.  That's my lame story for the day.

I saw Bruce Willis on the other side of the bar at a club one time (he had a hat and coat on, so he was 'in disguise'), and I think Sam Jackson was there as well (this was way before Pulp Fiction, BTW), with a beret on   .  It doesn't get more pretentious than a beret.

Oh- Bo Jackson.  That guy is a REALLY nice person if you meet him in real life, he was happy to sign autographs for fans and stuff (he just got through seeing a movie with a date, I believe).

Charles Barkley used to be a recurring guest on CNN's Talk Back Live.  The show ended its run quite a while ago, but from what I remember, Barkley was well spoken and could bring an interesting perspective to the conversation.

I met Alan Keyes when he came to speak at my university.  That guy is an amazing speaker, even if you don't agree with him.  Beyond that, the closest I came to fame was letting some members of Slobberbone share my table at a club before their set.  Not exactly hanging with the famous around these parts...  Well, I know Whitney and Bobby Brown live around here.  If I'm lucky I might get roughed up by their posse some day!

Actually, I met quite a few authors when I worked at a bookstore.  They sure look like "normal" people, but most seem to dress a little weird, unsurprisingly like they are out of touch with reality.

One of my last jobs in the Air Force was protocol.  That meant that I met most of the command staff in the military at the time.  I also met a few political VIPs as well.

Prince Bandar (Saudi Arabia)
Speaker Gingrich
Most of President Clinton's office staff including his secretary Betty Currie (they weren't big fans of the military)
Senator Shelby
Senator Sessions
General Shelton
General Wesley Clark
General Jumper
General Ryan
General Shinseki
Admiral Gehman
Admiral Johnson
General Pace

I watched President Clinton walk by, but none of us got to meet him.  I've also met a bunch of country music stars while working security at my home county fair back in the day.  My most recent celebrity meeting was Ted Nugent at the NRA convention here in Houston.

Oh, I thought of another one... Mike McCurry, Clinton's press secretary and the guy who took over John Kerry's campaign (a day late and a dollar short).  Nice enough guy, but it was sad watching all the people I work for kiss his ass endlessly.

Met and interviewed Oprah in college the night after seeing her movie Beloved. Kind of awkward doing so, because the movie was three hours of pure asinine hell, and she was sooooo proud of it. So the final review blasting it as utter crap ran right over my interview with her. Fun times. biggrin

Did a phone interview with Jason Schwartzman, i.e. Rushmore kid, who came off as an ass. Met and interviewed everyone who worked behind the scenes on Prince of Egypt including Jeffrey Katzenberg. Nice guy, way smaller than I figured he would be. The funny part was my ex was sitting next to me also doing taking part in the interview and she was "gifted" in the chest department and his eyes kept dropping below her chin every four or five seconds. I was dying laughing later. biggrin

Met Kevin Bacon and Paul Michael Glaser (of the original Starsky & Hutch) when I played an extra in the movie "The Air up There.". Ran into Tom Postens and Tim Conway at dinner here in town once, they were doing a show downtown. Bumped into Elliot Gould at the mall in Oakville (Ocean's Eleven).

@Knightshade Dragon... you actually met the honorable Shigeru Miyamoto? I bow to you deeply.
