My dad wants one for xmas and I have no idea where to look?  he wants to be able to play his old 8MM movies on a new player.  Do you guys/gals have any idea?

Something else to think about - I had about an hour of 8mm movies transferred to DVD by a guy in Chicago - he did a great job, and was much less expensive than all the other places I checked...  quick turnaround too.  He did color correction and image restoration that simply playing them on an 8mm projector won't do.

We had some old ones put onto VHS years ago..came out good...Ours is a old brownie camera..wonder what its worth..box and all hehe..and no its not for sale..just curious

having the old film put onto VHS or DVD is probably the best option.  sure, there's a little nostalgia to actually showing them with a projector, but it's important to consider the age of that film.  it does weaken over time and every run on a projector runs the chance of breaking the strip.  just something to keep in mind...
