Now I am debating whether or not comics should be allowed into this ficasso and my gut feelign is yes, I'm sure they have made video games on most comic book characters anwyays... My guesses are either: if we allow Comics these are in: Any of the punishers, Catwoman, Supergirl Electra Steel The Crow 2 Batman and Robin Hulk If its strictly Video games: Street Fighter, The Movie. Alone in the Dark Doom Bloodrayne Mortal Combat Annihilation Wing Commander Super Mario Brothers Double Dragon And Sadly I think I have seen all but Alone inthe Dark and Bloodrayne I am SURE I am missing quite a few... so feel free to post some godawful ones... So I say we start voting Gents...

House of the Dead has got to be one of the worst offenders. That movie is like poison to my brain.

No way dude, despire Uwe Boll's best efforts, it's still Super Mario Brothers. Double Dragon gets saved by having an actual martial artist (who has 1000 pts of movie karma for his role in Brotherhood of the Wolf). Super Mario Brothers was an absolute abomination, it made no sense, had literally no connection to the source material, and had the balls to set itself up for a sequel.

Seriously, do we need this little trip down Amnesia Lane?
And to think I had just about purged my memory of Super Mario Brothers....

I'll go with Wing Commander. While Wing Commander was an utter mess (and totally ruined what was left of the series), Super Mario Brothers was far worse. Or was it Street Fighter...not sure anymore.

I'd way rather watch Super Mario Bros. than Double Dragon. I remember going to the damn theatre back in grade four or so to see SMB when it came out. So wanted a pair of those crazy jump boots. Was terrified of the monstrous woman that wore them.

Now I am debating whether or not comics should be allowed into this ficasso and my gut feelign is yes, I'm sure they have made video games on most comic book characters anwyays... They should not. You asked about "game to movie," not "comic to movie." While many comic book characters have had video games, I can't think of a single film that was based on the video game of the character and not the original source material (Worst film to video game might be a good companion poll, though...). Despite a wayward youth that included Super Mario Brothers: The Movie, Mortal Kombat: The Movie, and Street Fighter: The Movie, I've spared myself most recent game-to-movie attempts. I say most because I did see Resident Evil (in the theater) and its sequel (on DVD). I recall Super Mario Brothers and Street Fighter being horrible, though I've had a certain nostalgic fondness for the former whenever I've flipped past it on TV. Street Fighter isn't nearly so lucky. Aside from a recurring gag amongst "the guys" (SEGA!), I don't recall taking anything positive out of that film. Except for wonderous joy when it was finally over. Mortal Kombat was certainly no Oscar contender, but I seem to remember thinking it was a pretty darn good adaptation of the game. I likewise enjoyed Resident Evil, though I can make no claims about the adaptation as I've never played any of the games in the series. The sequel was crap. Oh yeah - Wing Commander. Can't recall if wbs and I saw this at a sneak or purchased our way into it, but either way we paid about three times too much. Why Chris Roberts decided the Kilrathi where no longer great jungle cats in human form and instead were the progeny of Mexican Hairlesses I'll never know. Or forgive.

I completely forgot about D&D... but that wouldopen up a whole new window of opportunity, are we allowing "books"? Anyways.... Super MArio Brothers was horrible for me, but in a good way. LIke I watched it more than once when it was free on cable... It was so bad it was entertaining. Double Dragon, while having real martial artists was arguably one of the worst movies i have ever seen, right up there with Street Fighter. As far as wing commander... freddie prince jr, nuff said.

I guess in theory someone would have to see all the movies to determine properly.
And yeah, no D&D, cut out the comic book movies.
It makes it too messy.

Hey now, the Super Mario Brothers movie rocked! I love that movie in all is cheesy charm. Now, Street Fighter, that movie was painful to watch even the first time... And I think from all I've heard that Bloodrayne and Doom were quite awful as well. At least SMB had schlocky comedy to make up for being so horribly un-serious. Bob-Ombs == comedy gold!

Wow, I'm amazed at the hate for the first Mortal Kombat movie. I personally thought it was a great example of a game-to-movie.
MKII was complete doggie poop, however.

WingCommander. I walked out of this movie when there was probably half an hour left. I just couldn't take it anymore.
Streetfighter. Poor Van Damme.
Resident Evil.
I didn't like Final Fantasy much either.

Streetfighter. Poor Van Damme. Poor Van Damme? Poor Raul Julia! You do great acting most of your life, and your final movie, your last testimony, is... Street Fighter. A movie the star hired on for so he could feed the monkey. I also have to go on record as having liked the Resident Evil movie.

Now, Raul Julia has been in far worse movies than Street Fighter (unfortunately). Go do an IMDB search for 'Overdrawn at the Memory Bank', a MST3K classic. How he got a career in the movie business after that piece of utter tripe I'll never know.

It makes it too messy. I actaully heard that Vin Diesel, who is an avid D and D player, has been trying to get this movie going for a while.

a D&D movie could be good... however 3 things would have to occur: 1) Gratuitous violence with swords... in a good way... 2) A Plot about destroying someting evil with l no 20x20 square room sin a dungeon, maybe a brigand hideout, but not in a dungeon 3) No overacting... think more like a mix of lord of the rings ambiance and mildly more realistic magic than you might get from D&D. I wouldnt mind a little tongue in cheek like they did with the original Mortal Kombat... If anyother Wyans is in this, I hurt someone.

Bad video game movies:
Street Fighter Mario Bros. Alone in the Dark Wing Commander Mortal Kombat 2
Bad comic book movies and TV movies
Captain America (TV movie) Spider Man (TV movies) Hulk vs Thor (TV movie) Batman 3, 4, and 5 Superman 3 and 4 Fantastic Four ( What a piece of SHIT. Even Jessica Alba couldn't save this garbabge)
Now I actually liked Daredevil and Elecktra. The RE 1 and 2 are pretty decent as well

Looks like he'd be best known for recurring roles on 3rd Rock from the Sun and Boy Meets World.
