During the briefing prior to the assualt (or whenever), some lady says that 'many...... died to get these plans.'

I'm not star wars nut, but want to quote that line.

Was it bothans?

The whole quote would be nice too.

Thanks nerds! slywink

Bothans weren't the only ones who died.  Han Solo's ex-fiance was actually commanding the raid where the plans for the Death Star were stolen.  She was sadly lost during the fight.

Uh, I might go with a little something less conspicuous when planning my spy missions.  Unless they figured the Empire wouldn't notice something so obvious.  Hmm...

Revisionist history sucks.  Let the characters fade off into the sunset.  How many times has Luke actually turned to the Dark Side only to see the error of his ways (or just claim he was doing it to infiltrate them)?

Timothy Zahn's Star Wars books were great.  And that's about it (from what I've read).

Erm, well you see that was actually the plans for the first Death Star.  The Bothans died getting the plans for the second death star (as detailed in "Shadows of the Empire").  I'll go sulk in my geek corner now thank you....

I thought Kyle Katarn stole the plans for the first Death Star back in the original Dark Forces game.  And didn't the original X-Wing game depict some other way that they got the plans?

Wait.  Maybe they just wound up with 4 or 5 copies of Death Star plans.  Guess those Bothans died for nothing...

IIIRC, Kyle Katarn was a Bothan shape shifter.  Plot hole neatly closed. Thank you.

Actually, the Bothans who stole the plans crash landed and died on a planet and then about a half hour later their completely repaired ship with the fully alive Bothans flew off into space...

<which completely annoyed the hell out of Kevin Grey>
