If everyone is carrying guns are you saying that we will have no crime what so ever?

Even in current states that allow concealed weapons there is still murder, rapes, thefts and everything else.

I'm not against anyone having guns at all but if your arguement is that everyone should have guns because that is what our fore fathers wanted makes no sense either.  The fore fathers also believed in slaves and that women shouldn't be allowed to vote.

Every responsible gun owner I know (which includes everyone I'm related to, most of the people I work with and at least 50% of my friends) will tell you that part of the responsibility that comes with the right (Don't forget that those go inseparably hand-in-hand) is to maintain control of those weapons so that they do not fall into irresponsible or malicious hands.

I agree that "an armed society is a polite society"
I wish every state allowed free open or concealed carry
I feel that 99% of firearms regulation is fear-mongering nonsense

I also feel that the government forcing you to do something is just as oppressive and intrusive as forbidding you from doing something.

And there is no way in my mind that responsible gun ownership is tantamount to declaring guns should be banned. That too is nonsense.

I'm still pretty sure you're joking around, but there's the serious answer anyway.

Hey Raven,

It's been 4 days since you first posted about the missing money.

Is there an update to the story?

I'm wondering if you've discussed the matter with your roommate and if so how that went?

Inquiring minds want to know.

This thread has gone way off topic.  If you guys want to continue a gun discussion, start a new thread.  I'm not seeing the parallel between someone missing $40 and the handing around of guns.

So is this "slippery slope" thing kind of like Godwin's Law?

"Slippery Slope" is a informal logical relevance fallacy.

Anyway, nothing really happened, I hide my wallet better, and there had been no further incidences. And the roommate finally gave me back the $20 he owe me. Did he actually steal that $40? I'll probably never know. I'm over it now.

Maybe he stole your $40 so that he could pay you back the $20 he owed you. Maybe from now on you should write down the serial number of every bill....

I think at this point RAVEN should borrow $40 from the roommate and then forget to pay it back. That should square things away, right?
