Spawned from a discussion at work, what is your favorite cereal? What is it and why? My favorite is Cracklin' Oat Bran. I've loved it since I was a kid. It is one of the most expensive cereals on the shelf but damn I love it. Granted, you need a jackhammer and a power drill to get it out of your teeth, but there is just something about the taste that I like. Granted, its mouth-roof shredding capabilities are legion, and the waxy coating that it leaves behind is disgusting, but I love the taste. Shouldn't the Cap'n be an Admiral by now? I think you get booted at his age, not even counting how many times he's been passed for promotion...

Captain Crunch with Crunchberries! I'd eat all the square bits, let the milk absorb some of the berry goodness, then eat all the berries and drink the berry flavored milk!

Blueberry Monster Crunch annihilates every single other cereal out there. Seriously. It's crack in a bag and I eat it pretty much daily.

In the sugary genre: Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
There's this Cherry Almond Cluster cereal at Trader Joe's that's damn good..
Overall, though, somehow Raisin Nut Bran became my favorite.

Nuttin' Honey is maybe my overall fav. I'm sure I'll think of something else later.
Coco Puffs is way up there. Edit to add Honey Bunches of Oats to "high on the list" list Edit to add Coco Krispies
But these days it's all about Frosted mini-wheats, or Almond Crunch (something like that)
Edit: Love the golden grahms, but sog-factor is too high for my tastes/pace

The normal Honey Bunches of Oats for me (none of those almonds, thank you very much)... Cracklin Oat Bran a close second, but due to the cost per box, it falls. Honey Nut Cheerios for the bronze. And of course all of those have already been named by someone else Lately however I've been on a Lucky Charms kick for the 4 times a month I eat cereal.

CW Post? What is that? And seriously...there is a cereal named "Flax". Isn't that one of the components of making cloth? Why would you want to eat that?

All time favs are:
1. Fruity Pebbles - Fruity Crack 2. Coco Pebbles - Coco Crack 3. Honey Comb - Great with milk or straight out of box. 4. Cookie Crisp - Great with mild or straight out of box.
Now have to stop on way home to get a box of one of these. Thanks!
Regards, Pig

Though I'm trying to eat a little better, sugary cereals will always have a place in my pantry. The Reeses' Puffs cereal is the perfect chocolate/peanut butter combo to get me up and rolling in the morning. Failing that, pretty much anything with brightly colored marshmallows is good with me.

I was going to list those two cereals myself, though of the Cap'n Crunch varieties, I tend to dig the peanut butter one the most despite it being even more mouth-roof-shredding than the regular type.

Cereal is cereal to me, and it has never been something that really knocks my socks off. So I pretty much like them all. If I reaaaaally had to choose though I would say Cinnamon Toast Crunch or Golden Grahams.

CW Post? What is that? It was a granola-like cereal that had a real sweet honey coating over small clusters of granola. I haven't seen it in YEARS and every time I see a new granola type cereal I always try it, but nothing has come close.

I rarely eat cereal and almost never keep any in the house, but if I do feel the overwheliming need to luxuriate in the rush of a sugary coma, there is only 1 that will truly fit the bill and that I'll make a deliberate trip to the store to get & pig out on:
Flintstone's Coco Pebbles.
A full heaping bowl of the tender little crispy things that have to be gobbled before getting too mushy in the milk, all while gently releasing their chocolate love; like bulletpig already correctly said, 'tis like Coco Crack.

I am a big cereal guy. I eat all the Disney cereal I see in the store, whenever I see it.
The Disney Princess cereal was f'n fantastic. I should have gotten more when it was out in limited edition.
Nothing beats Coooooookie Crisp. That shit's expensive (usually high $4 per box), but totally worth it.

For sugary cereals I'd have to say that Peanut Butter Crunch is about the tops for me, despite it's waxy mouth-shreddingness.
Regular cereal I'd say is a tie between Raisin Nut Bran and Cracklin' Oat Bran.

Reeses Pieces cereal wasn't bad, but I'd have to go with Life from yesteryear. Nowadays it's HN Cheerios, and I eat a hella lot of Fibre First. Check out the fibre content man... it's like a street-sweeper for your intestines!

I must be old because the sugary stuff now makes me want to vomit.

Golden Grahams.
However, once upon a time there was a short-lived cereal called "Kenmai Rice Bran", which I thought was the greatest cereal evar. It crunchy and very lightly sweet, and seemed to me too be the perfect amount of sweet (sometimes GG seems too sweet, which I guess is good because it prevents me from eating more than one bowl).

Lesse: Raisin Nut bran - those raisins were insanely huge, the rest of it was ok. Peanut Butter Crunch - if Reeces are anythign like it I might have a new number 2 Cinnamon Life Frosted Shredded Wheat - no fricking clue why either.
