for me it's the high pitched whine of the half dozen fans in my gaming machine layered over the newly meandering pitch of my tinnitis... what I wouldn't give to be listening to some metallica at the moment.

It was this moment that took the movie from being a little ho-hum to “holy shit, did that shark just eat a plane!?”

Oddly enough I just bought (~ 1 week ago) Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning. My first Metallica albums!

I'm currently listening to whatever is being played via Hair Nation on my web version of Sirius Satellite Radio. Nice stuff to jam to while at work.

I'm listening to the deep, low bass tone of my satellite signal strength meter on my DirecTV receiver right now. :x

The Black Album itself is optional as some people like it, some don't. I like it and am quite happy with owning it. Skip the rest. Some of it's ok, but totally not worth the money.

Actually I've listened to S&M and watched the concert video a couple times. It's totally amazing. If it hadn't been so good I would never have been interested in their older stuff.

I generally don't count that one as most if it is actually their older material, just re-composed. I own and like S&M myself. It's just not what I would call one of their "regular" albums. If you're going to get into live stuff.. then I'd say you should pick up the big "Live Shit: Binge and Purge" DVD/CD set too.
