I can't recall if I used to find them here or at OO, but every Tuesday I find myself stumbling around the internet to find a good DVD new-release site.  My old standby crapped out at the end of 2007 and never updated for 2008, and so far I have yet to find a good listing.  I used to be able to find some great lesser-known gems with summaries, reviews, etc, but now I only usually find a short list with only the most popular films listed.

Does anyone have a site they typically refer to each week, or if there is enough interest could the GamingTrend staff, with all of its wisdom and resources, perhaps add something like this to the site for us DVD movie junkies?  I understand that this is primarily a gaming site, but there are a number of movie fans here and I certainly miss DVD Tuesday threads.

Any idea why the Coppola Restoration should make me look askance at my box set from the last time they released them?  Aside from being Blu-Ray?

I'd rather be watching hockey.

Aside from a new video remastering, there are a number of new documentary features shot in HD for the Blu-Ray edition.

Also, if no one else is willing to do it, I am game for doing a regular new release list on Tuesdays.

You also get a $10 rebate if you already own the original collection.  Though I have to say, I much prefer the packaging from the DVD release to the BR packaging.

I'm really happy that I finally decided to mention something.  DVD new-release Tuesday threads were always rather helpful to me as I'd be able to always have a reference as to what is coming out on DVD.  And given my DVD purchasing addiction, taking away the DVD Tuesday thread is like stopping beer production.   icon_eek

Thanks for taking over, Jimmy!   icon_biggrin

No problem. I've been DVD addicted for darn near 10 years now. It's been a long time since I counted but my collection is probably well over 2000 titles now. I keep track of new releases using a couple of different sites, so it'll be easy to pull from my sources to put together a list on Tuesdays.
