Ain't we just.

Saw this over on OO.  Firefly con gets cancelled at the last minute, but the actors show up anyways and throw an impromptu fan event.  Damn, that's cool.

Thats awesome. I love the cast. Like the show quite a bit too, just find about half the episodes very uneven. Still, great people.

That is very cool.  Its a shame that the powers that be that cancelled it are so damned stupid.  Wanna see far worse effects and acting?  Watch the first season of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Wanna see an awful show set in the most ungodly boring sci-fi universe ever imagined by man?  Watch the first season of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Fixed, because Star Trek as a whole fucking sucks.

And yes, the Firefly cast rules.

That may be true (albeit opinion), but it is MORE true of that first season.  Jesus...I'd rather have rough sex with a bear trap than watch that again.

Don't go hating on bear traps just because Star Trek sucks!

so we just need to lock KD in a room with a bear trap and a indestructible TV that only shows Star Trek the Next Generation season 1 for some hilarious youtube videos?

cool.

Honestly, star trek fucking rocks. Shut.your.mouth. There is more good tv in the star trek series as a whole than in almost anything else I can think of-certainly more than in any other series. The blind hatred for all things star trek is just so closed minded. The different series have run the gamut of styles from hard core drama to comedic action, to real science fiction. Its had fantastic acting, bad acting, and turned it into some of the best television episodes ever. If you can't watch In The Pale Moonlight, Tapestry, Chain of Command, The Siege of AAR 771, etc and not objectively see and understand how it is simply fantastic TV, star trek or otherwise, you have an issue.

Yeah, but the first season did blow. Any time I see an unshaven Will Riker and Tasha Whateverhernameis, I turn the channel as quick as I can. Not only are the stories pretty lame (anyone remember the one about aliens infecting the brains of Starfleet Command?) but the dialogue is painful, the special effects are craptastic, and the always-ending-in-a-crescendo music is way over done. It's amazing how big a difference there is between season 1 and season 2.

I never said it didn't-responding primarily to ThinJ's really really dumb blanket post  disgust Season 1 was bad. Season 2 was mediocre. The rest was brilliant, and DS9 is one of the greatest series of all time-in anything.
