Here I am enjoying the back porch.

How did that goat get up there?    Admittedly I don't know much about goats, but are they good jumpers or something?

No 70's Honda's, lots of vintage Vespa's and Lambretta's.  Most of the crowd were on modern era Vespa's and I ride a Piaggio MP-3.

I think there were over 100 scoots on the ride but I never got a chance to count.  Lots of fun!  Here is a bit of the gang heading out at the start of the ride.

How did that goat get up there?    Admittedly I don't know much about goats, but are they good jumpers or something?

Just like their more famous mountain goats cousins they can jump and balance themselves all out of proportion. These dwarf goats and jump at least three feet high (there's a table below that you can't see in the picture) and jump down six feet. The can walk on that railing all day and even sleep on it. That railing leads over to a tree with a bird feeder on it. These and their bigger cousins we used to have would jump up on the railing and into the tree to get the bird food. Which is why there is a gate on the porch to keep them off and to keep them from butting their way thru the sliding glass door.
I never mentioned the goats in the tree before because I figured who'd believe it?

Slackerjoe, where in Hawaii are you?
That was last September/October on holiday on the island of Kauai.  I've been to 4 of the Hawaiian islands so far (Oahu, Maui, Big Island, and Kauai) and by far Kauai is my favorite.  Incredible and varied natural beauty, nice beaches, and small enough so that you can get around the whole place during a one/two week vacation.
