Mine was Avault for the longest time.  However, now it is Fileplanet.  (Home computer)

Reason:  I can keep up on when new patches are released for games that I have.

Work computer is set to an environmental news site.  You know, for work type stuff.

Seriously?!

Count me in on the about:blank homepage as well. While I tend to pretty much visit Console Gold right after I've opened up my browser, there are times I just want to open it for just an instant to hit another page (or to search for something).

Opening up the browser to a site slows things down in those instances.

On my Mac at home, with OmniWeb, I have a default workspace that includes Google News, and my Gmail and Yahoo mail pages. At work, I use Firefox, and while I've had Google News as my homepage for months, I've now switched over to Google/ig.

Very much liking the Google pseudo-portal.

slashdot.org

Though its really slowing me down.  I think i am going to switch back to my custom Homepage HTML that has links to all my favorite sites.  Loads in a  flash and I am one click away from anything I want.

Echo that.  I open and close the browser too much to worry about loading a page each time.  If I really wanted to go crazy I would just create my own template with a bunch of links or RSS feeds.  Blank is good with me.

Do you Talk Strategy?

View Profile WWW
« Reply #28 on: May 27, 2005, 03:35:21 AM »

Well it used to be Talk Strategy but then I realized I spent more time in a browser working on Talk Strategy News so that's where it points now.

Of course, I wish someone other than me had it as their home page.

Now there's one you can COUNT ON showing up **100%** of the time!!

I used to have that as mine until I got rid of the dial-up access.

Console Gold mainpage (per KD's or someone else requests changed from forums). Usually after a few mins skimming the news, immediately click Forum shortcut, leave this up most of the day.

Fark is my designated page home page, but in practice my tab session is saved so when I open my browser I'm back at whereever I left off.

Never knew about "blank"... I just open my email, then right click and open Firefox before the email screen takes over.  After a quick check for urgent mail - it's off to Firefox and ConsoleGold.

Firefox:  Google  (Tabs: local banks, PayPal, My eBay, EB, GameFAQ's, ConsoleGold, Amazon, Dreamcast Forum, Google Desktop, Froogle, Photobucket, Hotmail, Comcast mail, Yahoo mail) -  wow - looks like more typed out.

Explorer:  My eBay - which I never use except for selling on e Bay, so I can use plain language, not HTML - tried the eBay plug-in, didn't seem to make a difference.

Ron, don't yell at me - the CG is so far down the tab list because when it's on the toolbar it makes CG at the middle of the bar - closest to the average location of the mouse pointer!  AND, it's to the front page, so I read that before I let myself go to the forums. Tongue
