So, out of curiosity, anyone out there know of a good and reasonably cheap site for basic web hosting?

I just need FTP access to the site.  Isn't high traffic currently (2500-4000 'unique' visits/month, about 30-40k page views), but I'm running Wordpress on it, so needs to be able to do that.  Already own a domain.  I've been hosting it on my machine, but router issues at home are making it unreliable as a long-term solution.

I've used Dreamhost for years. Reasonably cheap, and they have easy installs for a bunch of common software (including Wordpress).

PM me if you decide to go that route and I can give you a discount code.

Hostgator - Baby Croc

I host over 20 sites with it and have never had any trouble.

Bluehost.com.  They're pretty good and I haven't experienced any downtime...

I'm a fan of Bluehost.  I've set up a dozen or so sites with them.  If you start to get a lot of traffic, say 40,000 a month or so you may start to have trouble but otherwise I think its a great reasonably priced host.

Another happy bluehost user here. Had to call customer service once and they were a dream to deal with. Real people! Friendly ones!

My brain dump, as I want to watch this thread and I'm looking for ASP.Net solutions...

Dreamhost - no ASP.net
Hostgator - no ASP.net
bluehost - Their "Tell me more" button crashes my IE7 browser with no error message  retard
IX Web Hosting - Their "Hosting Plans" section shows up with graphical issues in my IE7 browser

1and1 is pretty good.  I've mostly had good customer service, but I have had few duds.    Uptime and performance are great.  Though I guess you'd need Microsoft hosting and I've only used the Linux hosting.  They added unlimited volume to most accounts.
