Apologies for the shameless rip off of Azhag's thread, but I saw how the Power of the GT/OO/DQ got his bro's band some serious votes.

Anyway, I entered my Little Band That Could, Lund Bros., into a contest where the winner gets to go to play at the Austin City Limits Music Festival in September. Normally I don't do this kind of thing, but I figured, why not? Here's a link to the ACLMF webpage:

The Sound and the Jury

Here's a link to the Lund Bros. page at the ACLMF site (where you can vote!):

Lund Bros. ACLMF Voting Page

As of 7-28-08, we have 142 votes. You can vote once per day and the voting for Round One ends August 22nd. They do ask for your email and a security code to keep you from stuffing the ballot box. All we have to do is make the top 100 to get into Round Two. Currently, the hundredth place band has 344 votes.

Thanks!!

Your Friend,

Gwon/lildrgn

I'm not a fan of giving out an email address, but I have voted twice now.  What I didn't realize is that I had to click on the link they send you to verify the vote.  That sounds almost like work.

It is kind of lame, but it keeps the riff-raff out, I suppose. Thanks for your support! Look for my band on Dubious Quality. Go us!

I've voted several times now, but I think that with all of the top 10 bands having over 1000 votes we just may not have the power to overcome.   icon_neutral

Vote! Please!

So... you have absolutely no chance of ever winning, but you still want people to vote?

Top 100, my brother. I'll give it up when #100 is out of reach.

Besides, I'd vote for you.

I've continued to vote, but it looks like right now the #100 spot is more than double our effort at 248.  Sorry man.

Tru dat, but did anyone ever tell you, quitters never win?

THAT'S RIGHT FOLKS! Keep on voting and give it the ol' college try! If we can get Azhag's bro's band to open for Coldplay, it should be no problem for my band to play in Austin (or at least make round 2).

Pretty please? Just once a day is all I ask!

Ugh. It's not looking good for GT's second favorite band (behind Looker, of course ninja). We are down 202 votes to tying the #100 band, but we are only down 1 more vote from tying the #99th band!

Do your duty! Put in a vote for the Lund Bros!

And, if you're in Seattle this week, we're playing the Skylark in W. Seattle on Friday. Should be a hoot! And, it's free!
