We were talking about V: The Miniseries from 1983 today at work, and I for some reason googled it.
http://www.kennethjohnson.us/V-News.html
Apparently the guy who started it has written V: The Second Generation, slated to come out mid 2007.  There are talks about making this a 3 hour movie as well.  Apparently it'll be the same characters we knew, just 20 years later.

I very very rarely read any novelizations of movies, or branded to a TV show or game.  But I think I'd have to pick this up, since I enjoyed the show so much as a kid.  I watched the original mini-series again a few years back, and if I recall it didn't hold up well at all (but I forgot enough that the good memories of it are there again.)

Hopefully someone else finds this as mildly interesting as I did smile

They must reshow the original first.

Man...that'd be something.

I wasn't allowed to watch it when it came out.  I think it had a naked alien in the credits or something.  crybaby

I loved the original series when it was on TV, but I haven't seen it since then.  I should watch it again one of these days.

Heck... I would almost be afraid to see it again.  My fear would be a repeat viewing could spark the same feelings of disappointment that re-watching The Transformers and especially Speed Race and Battle of the Planets would.  Being a kid, it seemed my imagination paved over all sorts of plot holes and found layers of meaning in the poorly told stories which weren't actually there.

So with many old series, I'm trying to leave my fond memories intact.  I may avoid seeing "V" again, unless all sorts of people state that time has, indeed, been good to the storyline (bad special effects I can live with).

Thats my thoughts. I own the tapes but have'nt watched them heheheh. I loved sci-fi and still do and of course thats one reason I watched it originally. But at that time I was a big Beastmaster fan and saw that Marc Singer was in so I took a chance on it. Loved that miniseries. The evil head alien babe was very hot iirc. Years later I got a job at a lumber yard and had me a pair of gloves just like singer's from V hehe. Ok that sounds wierd now days. Wait, my theropist is motioning to me.

I tried re-watching the series on DVD about a year ago.

It was painful.
