Yes.  But then I decided I was sort of broke.

But then I sold some games.

Now I'm going to get myself Dead Space, followed shortly thereafter by my previously decided one month gift, Fallout 3 collector's.

Keep your guard up. You are vulnerable when you start thinking "Well, that wasn't so bad..." or "I'm on top of it now". I re-started twice after quitting for 3-6 months. It wasn't until I had been off them for years that I could safely treat myself to the rare cigarette without firing up the addiction again.

Why on Earth would you tempt yourself with a "rare cigarette"?  Seems like you are asking for trouble by doing that.  Which I guess explains why your re-started twice.

When you guys quit, quit forever.

Tobacco is one of life's pleasures. It's possible to enjoy it without becoming addicted. Very, very difficult, but possible. I bum 2 smokes from a friend on Tuesday nights a couple of times a month. He just left to work in Puerto Rico for 2 months, so I won't have another one until he gets back in March.

But yeah...kids, don't try this at home.

Yeah, my previous quits made it clear that I can't bum a smoke or a drag or anything.  It's all or nothing with me.

6 months today.

I think this shit is taking!

Are you still experiencing any cravings or urges that might hinder your progress, or has it been long enough that the draw is no longer there?  I'm just curious as I've never dealt with quitting an addiction before, and when it comes to other changes in my life (losing weight, going back to the gym, etc) I am so disciplined that I merely make a mental commitment and stick to any goal I have set and carry it out (such has having lost 10 pounds since mid-February and continuing toward my goal of 20, getting back to where I was when I was last in the best shape of my life two years ago).

But, as these types of goals or commitments do not involve chemical addictions I have no idea just how hard your goal might be.  Although many find the simple act of losing weight to be extremely difficult as unhealthy foods can be addictive in some way.

Congrats on the progress.

Not physically, but mentally I still want one sometimes if I see someone smoking... especially if I'm stressed or drinking or both.
