Plus with the popularity from Castle, Fillion has a much larger and varied fan based than just from his Firefly/Serenity days.  I think he can carry a video game movie. Honestly, game movies tend to bomb no matter what so Fillion may be a boost to this thing,  Marky Mark?  Uh  no thanks, he already ruined one of my favorite books by doing a movie of it.

Slither, I think a friend of mine bought me a copy of that a couple of years ago.  it was one of those awkward gift moments, where you have to act pleased but know it'll be exchanged later on.

Im referring to the movie Shooter.  It was loosely based on a great book call Point of Impact, by Stephen Hunter.  The movie proceeded to destroy everything that was great about the book.

What is the situation with your Uncharted movie script? It seems such a natural game to turn into a movie…
The game is very cinematic; there’s no question about it. That’s what I’m working on real hard and I’m writing it as we speak and I’m really excited to make it. I’d love Mark to be in it, I’d love Bob De Niro to be in it; I love the idea of growing them into a cinematic family; I think that’s a really cool idea, but… I guess you’ll have to wait until you see the script.

What thoughts do you have about the love interest, Elena?
Ah, Elena. I’ve cultivated her quite a bit and I think I’ve added a lot of dimension to her so that’s all I’m going to say. I love the woman characters and the more robust they are, the more robust the movie.

From watching The Fighter, we would love Amy Adams to play Elena…
Oh I would love that too, I love Amy. I also love Scarlett Johansson; there’s a lot of great actors I think might suit. Hopefully, we’ll see how it works out with everybody who are being scoped to do that role…

I still don't understand why they have such a hard time sticking to the basics of the game series.  If you're just going to make it completely different why license the game in the first place?

I'm not sure I understand his argument correctly, but he seems to indicate that other game-to-movie conversions fail because they stick too close to the source material. Uh, they fail because they do exactly what you do, Mr Russel. The director tries to make it his own instead of treating the property with respect.

And he apparently doesn't even know who Nathan Fillion is. Way to pay attention to the wishes of the fans.
