Revenge of the Fallen, eh? If I was that one Autobot that got treated so poorly after my death ("Oh, he's dead. Oh well." *tosses corpse away*), I'd want to get revenge too.

Will the sequel allow you to just skip to the slo-mo shots of Megan Fox?   They were the only redeeming factors of the first one.

I liked Transformers, but I hate the Michael Bayness of it.

I was quite surprised by how much I enjoyed Transformers since I've become so sick of all of the Bay-isms that you mentioned.

Along with the nerdy black yet hip rapper guy and his DDR playing brother or cousin or whatever.

It was funny in Snakes on a Plane it was wtf inducing in Transformers.

Anything Bay does is pure military porn. If you don't get off on the US of A loading up into bleeding edge fighter jets to go kick ass then his movies aren't for you. Since I totally get off on Bay's films, Transformers was like a dream come true. The Transformers I grew up with moving and fighting like I always hoped they would while being lead by the actual Optimus Prime? Hell yeah I want more of that!

I think we all KNEW that Soundwave wasnt going to be any sort of music item...Even if we had hope he would be.  Lets just hope they keep his voice right.  I still dont understand the Megatron thing.  In the movie, not the same actor as the cartoon.  In the video game.  Same actor as the cartoon...WTH!?

Quote
Welker was asked to audition to reprise his original role of Megatron in the 2007 live action Transformers movie. Apparently due to a conflict in schedules, Welker never met with the producers or director Michael Bay. Bay, however, had Welker send him a couple of recorded lines and concluded that Welker's Megatron did not fit his new interpretation of the character and that having him use a different voice would defeat the purpose of casting him. Although this did not occur in the film itself, Welker reunited with Transformers co-star Peter Cullen in the 2007 Transformers: The Game, with both returning to voice their signature roles. He also reprised his role in the animated prequel, a bonus premium of the DVD package.

I wonder if Welker will audition for the new Transformers movie, as he did the original Soundwave voice.

I really hope so, I would hate to see another very prominent voice missing.  I mean there was really nothing we could do about starscream, since the voice actor had died.

I could really do without hearing Bumble-Bee talk though.

Interviewer: "With Michael Bay at the helm, how are you feeling? Do you suspect your character is going to be compromised once AGAIN to fit sub-par scripting and directing? I mean, a bunch of intergalactic military veterans with covert cover modes and the ability to adapt to any situation not being familiar with subtlety? It seems to me like this next movie will have a lynch-pin resolution hinging on key human interaction - but perhaps this-go-round you won't be portrayed as bumbling idiots."
Optimus Prime: "Now all we need is a little energon and a lot of luck."

And the new trailer is chock full of ass-whoopery. I'm actually thinking now the big robot at the end of the Super Bowl trailer is Devastator (the Constructicon ultimate boss thingie) because they show the beginning of the scene in this trailer and it looks like the robot starts small and gets way way way bigger in a hurry.

i wouldn't say it was garbage, but it definitely wasn't the Transformers we all grew up watching.  i've long ago given up on this series of movies even remotely resembling the show i watched when i was little and now just hope for an entertaining action flick with insane giant robots.  i think this looks like it should fit the bill nicely icon_cool

A lot of what disarm said. But a lot of it was that Optimus Prime is a bumbling moron for the most part- rather than the bad ass he actually was-  and there's basically 40-50 minutes in the middle of the movie where nothing happens.  And the scene where they're trying to get Shia out of his house quietly was so ridiculous and drawn out and made all the autobots look like morons for comic effect grated me to no end.

There's that spoof movie poster where it says something like bad writing no plot lots of loud noises. That's pretty much it.  I'd rather watch The Rock for the 300th time.

there is another trailer out there too.  They showed a different one in Japan last week, and i didnt link it cuz it looked like poo as it was filmed on a cell phone.  It contains bits of the new one linked her, but A LOT more of the transformers and the actors.  It was prolly about twice as long.
