Shocking, just shocking!  I am just surprised Hollywood would milk at franchise which rakes in the cash.  Have they no shame?

Seems like this was a given, but I guess it is faster than most people thought.

The second one did have some pretty cool scenes but you have to be able to block about 2/3 of the movie from your memory entirely in order to walk away feeling good about yourself.

The second one was a 2 1/2 hour trailer disguised as a movie. Discordant, poorly filmed action scenes filled with random robots with little to no context. Terrible film, even by the first one's standards.

an interview with God.

Quote
So can we expect more thunderous sound in the third installment? Although the number of robots increased significantly from the first film for the second, the third film -- which will hit theaters in summer 2011, won’t be as robot-heavy and there will be fewer explosions, a tight-lipped Bay said after the Q+A.

“There will be a nice crescendo ending,” Bay said. “It gets much more into the robot character. The last time you kind of met a few of the robots; this time you’re gonna get a much cooler landscape.”

I think someone has kidnapped him and replaced him with a double.....

there were so many appalling over-the-top stupid slapstick moments in the second one that I couldn't focus on the story (assuming there was one)  If I were a 10 year old I would have still thought the movie had too much stupid going for it.  G-Force would have been less insulting.

I liked the first one for what it's worth.

I enjoyed the first quite a bit in a guilty-pleasure sort of way, and I even enjoyed G-Force.  I despised the second film.  The attempts at humor were terrible, the plot was nonsensical, the dialogue was wretchedly bad, although the action was moderately okay but nothing terribly new.

As somebody said about Avatar:

No matter how crazy the fights got, and no matter how much action was on the screen, the director refused to use fast-pan camera spins/cuts so you could actually figure out what was going on, unlike the shittastic Transformers 2.

I expect nothing but a pile of dung with this film. I wonder what'll be released around it so I can give my money to that and sneak into T3...

That's really all that needs to be said.

Didn't see the second one until it was available to rent. After watching that trash I can't say I'd even bother renting a third one.

I've refused to see either Transformers film in a theater. I saw the first one (without sound) on an airline flight. I think that's the best way to appreciate the film. No sound or fury, just poetic, lilting images that push the boundaries of comprehension...  smirk smirk Bring your own!

Luckily the rifftrax guys agreed me.

I read somewhere that Transformers 2 was basically finished with out a set script.  It was done during the heart of the writers strike and it seems that Bay basically threw the movie together without a completed script due to budget constraints.  After seeing the movie  (as a rental )  I totally believe that to be true.
