I watched the trailer again last night and I see that both of the main chars from TRON are back...I don't remember the end to TRON, I think I'll have to watch it again.

May have to pull out the original for the daughter this weekend, but I have a hunch it'll be tough to sit through.
For you, or your daughter? In my opinion Tron has aged just fine and still holds up today. Sure, the computer programming featured in the film is long outdated, but the special effects were well beyond their time, the sound is fantastic, the acting by Bridges is up to par with what we've seen he can do even today, and the storyline is a blast. But, if you're referring to your daughter, I can certainly understand as my wife continues to roll her eyes at me when I suggest that we watch Tron. She has zero interest in it and doesn't share any of my enthusiasm. Fortunately my wife is out of town this weekend. Pretty sure my daughter can enjoy just about anything, so we may give it a go.

Let me know what she thinks. I actually wouldn't be surprised if a modern child found it very boring. It doesn't really race along, and someone brought up on modern effects may think it looks cheesy. I think a lot of us have quite a bit of emotional and nostalgic investment in this movie.

Yes. But I'm a fanboi. I have the 25th Anniversary Special Edition and I've found it to be worth the entry fee. that was pretty awesome.
My thoughts were similar, but my assessment only differed in my use of profanity, as I found it to be fucking awesome.

Flynn's Arcade at ComicCon 2009 Filled with 1980's era arcade games and the hidden area behind the Tron cabinet filled with art from the new movie. Would love to have been there. Also check out the bad ass light cycle in there.

that is so much awesome that the word awesome is inadequate to describe it. That's because it's awesome that was marinated in awesome, then glazed in awesome sauce and served with an extra bowl of awesome sauce on the side. And a glass of awesome to wash it all down. I think I am most excited about Disney finally truly recognizing the writing prowess of the folks at Pixar and involving them in other projects such as feature Disney films to attempt to improve them even more.
