Did anyone else manage to snag one? They sold out in about 4 hours but I wandered into a Radio Shack last weekend and they had them in stock. I upgrade phones a lot because I'm a technology whore. After a week of use this is the best phone I have ever owned. It also made me curb my desire for an iPad.

This monster has a 4.3" screen and razor sharp graphics. The downside is that it runs Windows Mobile. HTC did a nice job of covering up the OS with their 'sense' interface but you can still tell there is a ratty old dog hiding under the chrome. The phone is freakishly fast, comes with 16 gigs of storage and feels really solid. It is a big phone but I can live with that.

Oh it comes with the Barnes and Noble ebook reader - which is cool but you can't load your own books on it, you have to buy them from B and N if you want to read on it.

It's not the years, it's the mileage.

Man, I am in the market for a new phone (TMO as well) because I am tired of my BB Pearl 8120 freezing all the time.

Plus I just want something new.

I am out of contract and could go with a new, free, tasty phone from someone else, but I like TMO. And my plan is paid for via TMO. If I switch, I'd most likely have to start paying myself... I'll just live vicariously through you for now. smile

I'd be curious how hard it would be to flash Android onto that thing.

That looks SWEET.

Wonder if Verizon has them.

They aren't getting that one.  But they are getting the HTC Incredible, which from what I understand is very close to the Evo 4 (which I'm anxiously awaiting).

I'm sure someone is trying to port Android to the phone. I'd like to see Windows 7 running on it but MS said it's not going to happen. But I bet someone will figure out how to do it. There is a video floating around of the OS running on this phone but I'm not sure if it is real.

Out of curiosity, how much did the HD2 cost?  I haven't done much shopping around for these types of devices, but I would like to upgrade from my older standard phone, I do have T-mobile and contract is up as well.

It was a $199 upgrade. Someone on the T-mobile forum said that Costco had them for $148 as an upgrade and it came with a bluetooth headset and a car charger.  eek
