I have just today, a few hours ago, received Cloak and Dagger in the mail from Blockbuster. I L-O-V-E-D this movie when I was a kid and L-O-V-E-D the arcade game of the same name. This movie also spawned my affection for Dabney Coleman even though I couldn't name another thing he's ever been in. I'll probably watch it over the next couple of days and report back here. Other titles I hope to rent? Six Pack- Featuring Kenny Rogers as a Nascar Driver and the antagonist who points with his middle finger (saw it in the theater!) Bugsy Malone- Still one of my all time favorite movies. It's not out on DVD, so I'll just have to go from memory War Games- Need it any explanation? Weird Science- I never saw this movie. 2010 is the year! Perhaps something staring John Cusak in a romantic comedy. Say Anything, maybe? I also remember hating The Breakfast club, but why not? Anyway, can't wait to fire up Cloak and Dagger. Who's with me!?

OMG, You never saw Weird Science??? What a great movie. As far as the rest of your list, Cloak and Dagger was a cool movie. Six pack was Ok, Bugsy Malone a classic that really should be on DVD not sure why its not. War Games is a given. Breakfast club, what was wrong with it? I enjoyed that movie tremendously.

SL, it sounds like you might like Anthony Edwards in TAG: The Assassination Game. Very entertaining. Also, if you have a blu ray player (or PS3), you can order Bugsy Malone from England (where they still respect its genius) for about $16.

Well Fast times is a given. I saw it enough back in the day not to require subsequent viewings.
Never saw 16 candles me thinks either.
Saw most of the rest on that list...not sure what loverboy is.
BttF might warrant another watch too. Not sure if they'd hold up.

Alternatively there is also Gotcha! with Anthony Edwards. Or not alternatively, as that's the one I meant. Weird connection, though, TAG stars Robert Carradine, which brings me to: Revenge of the Nerds

Cloak and Dagger is great. Loved the San Antonio setting. As to John Cusack 80's romantic comedies, how bout Better off Dead? Here's one for the 80's list: Top Secret! Freaking hilarious.

not an 80's movie but a 'what happens when the 80's kids grow up' movie: Grosse Point Blank. it also has a great 80's soundtrack.

wow,you have not seen Weird Science,..i have DVD triple pack of Weird Science,The Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles...John Hughes FTW now i am thinking of 80s movies, but i think you have all named the best ones...I loved Real Genius with Val Kilmer and of course Top Secret..with er...Val Kilmer even though the Porky's films were set in the 50s i think they were made in the 80s,they were a big hit in school when one of the films had been on TV the night before The Big Chill kinda reminds me of The Breakfast Club with people connecting etc okay,i couldn't think of anymore so legged it upstairs and looked at my DVD collection lets go a little Tom Hanks, not the obvious ones like Big or T+H Bachelor PartyGentlemen... start your boners. The Money PitThe 'BurbsThe Lost BoysBig Trouble in Little ChinaClueWillowLabyrinthThe Dark Crystal<<creepy bastard film, and they are making a sequel now FletchSpies Like Us...Chevy Chase ruled the 80s Trading Places...Jamie Lee Curtis frontal=one of my best memories of the 80s St Elmo's Fire<<i still can't get my head round that this is not John Hughes oh and the first 3 Vacation films(er... National Lampoons Vacation,European Vacation and Christmas Vacation, pure class) Masters of the UniverseVHS classics>>> Critters and Ghoulies.... Ladyhawki can't stop now!!!>>>look>>> Aliens, Twins, The Golden Child, Romancing the Stone, 48hrsokay i am stopping now i wish it was still the 80s

They're making a sequel, BTW. Full on sequel, too, with the original kid and everything. It also has the original director, Nick Castle. His first movie? TAG: The Assassination Game. WTF?!?

wolverines!!!....also to add Patty Swizle again in Steal Dawn,i remember liking that as for The Last Starfighter,i always liked their way of getting round the problem of everyone to speaking English, they give him a small circular translator to put under his shirt collar so that no matter what language the aliens species spoke,he would always hear English...i was always expecting some similar explanation for Mass Effect, but it never came these films may of been more popular(or not known outside of)in the UK Krull..was pretty cool,he had like a throwing star as a weapon and also Hawk the Slayer,i remember loving that film(prolly corny as shit),but with it being an English film, not sure how well it did elsewhere(although Jack Palance was in it) and one more VHS classic>>> Beastmaster..
