i love Thundercats(as my bed shirt and my Black Ops logo as well show) and this is the first i have heard of a remake

as for the trailers, they don't look too bad,but i am not keen on the new look Thundercats themselves,Lion-O looking more of a kid now,and wilyKit and Kat looking like something Manga/Anime rejected..and call me old fashioned, but i preferred Cheetaras leotard in the old series icon_wink

Lion-o's voice sucks for trying to be all epic sounding.

His kitty-sack hasn't fallen yet ... or perhaps the local Humane Society had neutered him as a kitten?

Funny. Just this week I was talking to the wife about getting a TC t-shirt.

I watched it last night...didn't realize it was starting, but I caught it about 5 minutes in as I was flipping channels and watched the rest.  It actually wasn't too bad.  The do seem to be straying from the premise of the original show quite a bit (no Third Earth yet, and Mumm-Ra's origin has changed), but I don't have any problem with that as long as they tell a good story.  I'll check it out again next week just to see what they have in mind...

Watched it this morning with my little girl and both were entertained throughout. Already set to record every Friday and will watch on Saturdays with her.  thumbsup

I agree. It was quite decent for the most part. The animation and art style at times are a little off, but it works. And yes, as long as the story stays good (a good sign at least with the first episode), I'll keep watching.

Also, props for bringing back the original Lion-O back to say the iconic line once more (as he was the King). He's still got the voice. biggrin

I don't think it's been cancelled yet...just not sure why they've started airing so many reruns and not showing new episodes...

Yeah, I noticed that too. Hope it wasn't just a mid-season replacement or something. I was enjoying it despite being just slightly outside of the age group it was aimed at.

They even put in the 'what the heck is a samoflange?' joke! biggrin

The show is rather good. Not Avatar level, but the story-telling was far more compelling than I expected. Really enjoyed the episode with the faeries in the forest and the book of omens flashback (the last one they showed) in particular.

I assume it's Avatar: The Last Airbender and not the movie that you're using as a barometer for good story-telling?

I finally saw an episode of this yesterday,it was okay....WilyKit and kat were fun, didn't like Lion-O..and Snarf has been ripped of all character

from looking it up,i see i saw episode 3,the episode had Pirates on a sandsea<<which reminded me of Final Fantasy 12 and the episode story reminded me of Moby Dick

Mumm-Ra looked good though, still creepy like i remember him..but overall,i guess overall i will say i prefered the original

the new series has been cancelled now anyway

thumbsdown starting to wonder if any new cartoon is worth the time nowadays; they all seem to get canceled after 1 or 2 seasons.

Well a lot of Japanese anime are standalone 1 "season" so it wouldn't be bad if they did this with American series as long as the story is good.

I think part of the problem is that cartoons back in the day didn't have to also be created to entertain 35 year olds, they were directed only at kids.  For the most part they were mediocre 30 minute commercials for toys, and you only loved them because you were young and impressionable.  I was too.

You could make a drinking game out of taking shots every time Starscream commits active or passive acts of sabotage.  Good luck surviving the first episode....
