Ah, the slippery slope argument. 

Again, there are lines that can be drawn and defended.  You just have to be able to show harm.

Then there's the issue of preparing the students for the future.  Most jobs will have much more stringent dress codes than a public school ever would.  While pink hair may survive a job in the fast food industry, good luck getting an office job at most places. 

Then again, no public college is going to enforce any sort of dress code.  Head on down to the local quad at lunch hour when school starts.  You'll thank me later.

It is resoundingly American to be defiant and rebellious. This girl simply has pink hair. It's not a revolutionary action. It's not going to lead to chaos or anarchy. Dogs and cats aren't suddenly going to get along.

Personally, if this girl were my child, I would be as proud as I could be.
