So, having not read the comics, where does the Skull Poop L come from?  Is there a logo that looks like that or something?  Or did it just start from that last billboard image and the order is reversed?

It's emoji-speak.  It's supposed to be dead-poo-L.

Yes.  It was marketing that just didn't work so people are making fun of it.

Must I be the one to say "I don't get it" again?

Curious to see how many parents bring their kids not realizing that it is a hardcore rated R movie. Oh the humanity!

To their credit I have seen several posts/comments/etc by those involved making it clear that the movie is not for kids.  If parents ignore that...well what can be done?

Most parents will pay attention and realize it's not kid appropriate, but there will inevitably be a few who are completely oblivious and take their kids anyhow. They'll be the ones complaining loudly afterwards.

Valentine's date with the wife ready to go. She knows I've loved Deadpool since Cable & Deadpool series (I wasn't reading comics during his earlier runs). We are briefly escaping the toddler.

If someone sees this on Friday could you chime in and say how bloody/gory it is? My wife has expressed interest in seeing this because we see all the Marvel movies, but I don't want her to have buyers remorse when it turns out to be not quite like the standard fare. I've already warned her but it would be good to be sure.

I haven't seen it, but all the reviews I've read have indicated that it is extremely violent. The NPR review compared the violence level to Kill Bill, if that tells you anything.

I'm hoping to go in a couple of hours.

EDIT: And I went.  Yeah, it's violent.  It's also crass and gross and hilarious and awesome.  I will not be taking my wife, but then she only has the mildest of interest in the Marvel films.

If I have one gripe it's that they spend a little too much time on origin stuff which, frankly, Deadpool doesn't even need.  But, really, that's a minor complaint.

Oh, and if anyone is wondering, there is a post-credit scene, and I recognized the location immediately.  Great stuff.

Saw it in a 4DX theater and was the perfect movie for that experience. 4DX is basically like you're on a ride at Disney. The chairs move in all directions. Wind blows around the theater. You smell scents every once in awhile. Water/Mist shoots at you. Lighting effects sometimes go off. It's all in tune with the movie. So like a blood splatter and the mist will shoot in your face. Or if someone fly's across the screen the chair will jerk and wind will blow in your face. An explosion the lights in the theater will flash for a bit. Right from the opening shot I could tell 4DX was going to be great for this film.

Tried D-Box awhile back with Star Wars and this blows D-Box out of the water.

Was a very fun flick outside of all the 4DX stuff. Very entertaining from beginning to end. I like that Marvel is willing to take chances like this one with their franchisees. It's paying off.

Just saw this tonight in a packed theater and thought it was a great time.

I'm not a big fan of Ryan Renolds, and I think Deadpool can at times be immature and annoying, but somehow they put those two things together and made something really fun.   thumbsup
