So much for that dream.  crybaby

Apparently Malcolm Young has had a stroke and the band is set to announce their retirement tomorrow.

I heard about this on the way in to work.  It's expected given the situation though.  Better to go out than try to bring in a replacement (which imho, would never work)

The band has always seemed to be a group of friends first, a rock band second.  Good on them for having the integrity to just end it with respect instead of greed.

Mmm, maybe that title change should have gotten its own thread, as this one is very confusing now.

AC/DC was actually my first real concert, I think it was the Blow Up Your Video tour in 88 or Who Made Who in 86.  My dad took me, I was like 13-15.

..the more I think about it, I'm pretty sure I saw both those tours.

Yeah, the title change threw me too, as I'd replied to this previously.  Bytes is bytes, yo.

Saw the announcement today that he is 'taking a break'.  I like to hope that it is in fact just a break and they will record that album sometime.  I really hope he doesn't die... Angus gets all the attention, but Malcolm is the actual band (and that's not a slight to Angus).

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I didn't realize that AC/DC was an Australian band.  Weird.

Brian Johnson is Scottish, so you weren't completely off course.   icon_wink
