I'm afraid Lee and I share pretty much nothing in common other than being forumites here.

Harkonis > Harkonnen
Baron Harkonnen > Played by Kenneth McMillan
McMillan > Also starred in The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974)

At the risk of going R&P, there is a billboard for some church or another that I pass every day on my way home, with a huge picture of Jesus on it.  When I first started this job (10 years ago), the image was what I had always traditionally seen as Jesus with long hair, a long beard, tattered robes, etc.  Over the last few years, he's slowly changed and received much lighter skin, a short haircut (like the one below), very neatly trimmed facial hair, and a flowing and pristine white robe.

The gradual transformation from "hippie Jesus" to White Republican JesusTM has been rather amusing to watch.  I guess now he's less threatening...or something

Somehow I suspect a certain subset of Christians would get cold feet about their religion if a more realistic portrayal of Jesus was used (dark skin, with black and likely curly hair). If he actually looked like that picture above, the Bible would definitely have mentioned it, because he would have been looking completely out of place in that area of the world at the time.

You're correct about these things, of course. Here's an interesting article about the subject, including an illustration of what the average person in that area at that time might have looked like. Since Jesus was supposed to look pretty average, it's probably the best foundation we have to build upon. Suffice to say, there's not even the slightest resemblance to the classic illustrations modern churches are littered with.

It's just wrong that no one has mentioned the game's name. Doesn't look familiar to me.

Edit: Top Gun, never played it. I didn't really play NES, I was a C64, PC, Amiga gamer.

I never had a problem with the landings either, but I could never get past stage 4...just too much incoming fire and too many targets for me to survive it all, and if I ever did, there was still the refueling and landing segments that you had to complete perfectly. Just one tiny mistake and it was all over mad
